Pozycja Pokój i harmonia w „Traktacie o pokoju” Gilberta z Tournai (1200-1284)Block, Wiesław (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)Gilbert z Tournai, brat mniejszy, żyjący w XIII wieku, w swoim dziele Traktat o pokoju (Tractatus de pace et tranquillitate animi) podejmuje temat harmonii i pokoju, analizując tę rzeczywistość z wielu perspektyw. Pozycja Mariologia i pobożność maryjna św. Piotra Damianiego (1007–1072)Królikowski, Janusz (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)Peter Damian is ranked among the most prominent figures of the Church of the 11th century because he contributed to her renewal. Theology deeply rooted in Tradition but also open to new challenges became one of the essential elements of this renewal. In his theology, there is a number of issues which refer to the figure of Mary, mother of God, Her mission and Marian devotion as well. This devotion, in particular, proved to be extremely influential in terms of spiritual renewal and by the same token it became fact that taking Mariology and Marian devotion into consideration should always constitute an indispensable element of the process of Church renewal in every epoch. Therefore, this paper is an attempt to present Mariology and Marian devotion in Sant Peter Damian’s writings.Pozycja Działalność Sekcji Teologii Duchowości w okresie od 1 stycznia do 31 grudnia 2021 r.Chmielewski, Marek; Miczyński, Jan K.; Rybicki, Adam W. (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)Pozycja Współczesne ujęcia empirycznego charakteru teologii duchowościMiczyński, Jan K. (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)The article shows a contemporary reflection on spiritual theology. The field of spiritual theology became abstracted from the theological studies in the XXth century. The article explains its empirical nature, which consists in examining the spiritual experience of specific people – either directly through observation or indirectly through written texts. While analysing the chosen contemporary literature, the article presents different conceptions of possible theological examination of an experience. It also explains scientific methods which are applied by spiritual theologians (besides the traditional methods: deductive, descriptive, phenomenological). The article shows suggested new methods, evaluates them, and groups them in the following way: a) methods of learning through personal experience; b) methods of observation; c) methods of text exegesis – hermeneutic; d) methods representing merging principle. Such an analysis of a contemporary reflection on spiritual theology leads to the following conclusions: a) one can notice many attempts of searching for new, more thorough methods of examining the spiritual experience of people; b) spiritual theology is inspired in this point by many human sciences; c) the multitude of methods stress multidimensionality of human experience, a mystery of a person; d) while focusing on only one particular method, one is in danger of reductionism; e) there is a need for a method that would merge all the others – it seems that a personalistic method could serve this purpose. The personalistic system assumes that the hermeneutical key for understanding any experience is a mystery of a person.Pozycja Pneumatologiczny aspekt Miłosierdzia Bożego według ks. Michała SopoćkiKruszewska, Marietta Elżbieta (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)The purpose of this article is to present Fr. Michael Sopoćko’s theological thought concerning the issue of the Holy Spirit’s mercy. Even contemporarily, this issue is not sufficiently present in theological literature. Mercy is, most often, attributed to the Father or to the Son. Professor Sopoćko has elaborated on this attribute concerning every divine person establishing in this way the theological basis of that cult. Sopoćko’s view on the Holy Spirit’s substance and action as merciful God opened new horizons in the field of theology. After Bl. Fr. Michael’s death, his works had an impact on the Church’s decision to unban the cult of Divine Mercy. Fr. Sopoćko’s thoughts, which remain still original and deep, are also worth applying while developing contemporary pneumatology.Pozycja On The Development of the Mariological Thought and Marian Devotion of Pope Saint John Paul II. Marian Doctor of the Church?Thomas, William A. (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)The complexity of Mariology is such that it can only be described by typology or by relationships. Pope Saint John Paul II develops both of these methodologies in dealing with the role of the Virgin Mary as Mother of the Church, a personal Mother to each human being and Mother of the Word Incarnate. This short paper looks at some of the writings and footnotes which are contained therein which show his love of certain Fathers of the Church such as Saint Bernard of Clairvaux and Saint Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort. In addition to the documents of the Second Vatican Council the Holy Father draws on these two great Saints and devotees of the Blessed Virgin in order to develop a Mariology and devotion suitable for the modern world. Francisco Suarez S.J who developed the systematic approach to Mariology is sidelined by Pope John Paul II in favour of Saint Louis de Montfort and with this approach he is able to bring the study of Mary to a new level where She will be known and loved.Pozycja Ksiądz Idzi Benedykt Radziszewski – czciciel Serca JezusowegoBielak, Włodzimierz (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)The idea of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, present in the Church for a long time, began to take the form of a cult in the 17th century. The turning point in promoting this kind of devotion came with the revelations to St Margaret Alacoque. Additionally, the Polish Church made a significant contribution to this matter. In the 1760s, Polish bishops submitted a memorandum to Pope Clement XIII regarding the approval of the cult of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Holy See’s response was positive and the cult was approved in Poland. The 19th century was a period of the consecration of individual countries to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and these processes culminated in Leo XIII’s encyclical Annum sacrum, in which the Pope consecrated the human race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. During the interwar period in Poland a great number of families entrusted themselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Rev. Idzi Radziszewski was born, grew up, was educated and worked in the atmosphere described above. Imbued with reverence for the Sacred Heart of Jesus, he shaped his personality referring to the ideals which stemmed from this devotion. These ideals guided him in his relations with others and inspired him to establish a Catholic university in Lublin. This institution aimed to serve God and country and to educate the Catholic elite who would devote themselves to Polish society and the Church, in the spirit of love whose source is the Sacred Heart of Jesus.Pozycja Kształtowanie zdrowej duchowościRybicki, Adam W. (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)Pozycja The Contemplative Psychology of Gerald Gordon May (1940-2005)Jastrzębski, Andrzej (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)This article presents a diversity of major psychospiritual concepts in the works of Gerald Gordon May (1940–2005), half-brother on the renowned existential psychologist Rollo May. Unlike his brother, Gerald May has not penetrated the thought-provoking mainstream psychology of religion and spiritual theology. In the present text, we attempt to indicate some possible reasons for this, while also presenting him as a unique and insightful interdisciplinary author, exceptionally linking psychology and spiritual theology whose ideas were probably too advanced to be well accepted in his time. In order to argue in favor of this thesis separately from his diagnosis of the misuse of spirituality in contemporary society, the cornerstones of May’s contemplative psychology will be presented under headings such as unitive experiences, spiritual longing, and, their fruit, spiritual surrender.Pozycja Polskie zwyczaje związane ze świętamiKozioł, Bogusław (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2022)
