Pozycja Zwiastowanie Marii w polskiej sztuce średniowiecznejKliś, Zdzisław (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 1992)Pozycja Władysława Witwickiego koncepcja relacji między nauką a wiarąBednarczyk, Jan (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 1992)The paper describes intellectual heritage of W. Witwicki and analyses his major works dealing with the relationship between science and religion. The author points out how the methodology of positivism that prevailed in the 1930’s influenced Witwicki’s critique of religion. This critique is assessed in this paper from the standpoint of the contemporary philosophy of sciense. Both unlimited trust in epiricist data and uncritical belief in rationality of science are called into question.Pozycja Chrześcijaństwo a badania naukoweNewman, John Henry (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 1992)Pozycja Autonomia osoby ludzkiej według J. Benedyktynek w StaniątkachKanior, Marian (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 1992)At Staniątki near Cracow, in the church of benedictines monastery, founded in the 13-th century, there is a miraculous image of Our Lady. Tradition of vigorous cult of Our Lady, connected with image, has come down to the present time. The use of singing a special song devoted to the God’s Mother every day before the Morning Prayer was introduced to the choir prayer of the community of Staniątki already in the 13th century. During of the centures there were introduced another religious practices at this convent, as: “Officium Parvum BMV”, nine-weeks novenna before the solemnity of Immaculate Conception BMV; “szopka” – a sort of the cristmas crib; “The Funeral of Our Lady” at the Feast of Assumption. The miracolous image was crowned with papal crowns in 1924 year. Many document attested the graces granted here, especially healings of soul and body, can be fonded in the archives of the monastery. At the present time the benedictine community at Staniątki keeps these religious practices: Rosary, Angelus, “Godzinki” [a sort of the poems devoted to the Blessed Mary; the votive mass every Saturday and the novenna to the Mother God of Perpetual Assistance. Many thanks and requests adressed to Our Lady in Staniątki also show the vigorous cult of the Mother of God among the laity.Pozycja Wydział Teologiczny Akademii Krakowskiej między wiekiem złotym a saską jesieniąKracik, Jan (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 1992)Pozycja Die Grundprobleme der Evangelisation Heute nach Karol Kard. First it was discussed the conception of ambivalention in psychology and in religiosity, then its occurrence and kinds. The occurrence of conflicts in a cognition sphere, co-existence of opposed emotions, volitional dilemmas and incoherent behaviour in relation to the religious object is characteristic for ambivalent religiosity. The group of the ambivalent religiosity persons: „doubting, but interested in questions of religion” (N = 30) was compared to a control group: „emphatic faithful” (N = 112) by means of Activities Index – G. G. Stern and Survey Values – M. Rokeach. It appears that the ambivalent persons in the comparison to the emphatic faithful ones have greater intensity of the following needs: Aggression and Autonomy, and they have slighter intensity of such values like : Humanism, Nurturance, Succordance, Ego Achievement. In the sphere of terminal values, the ambivalent individuals prefer: A comfortable life, An exciting life, Social recognition, Sense accomplishment and Salvation is the last one. The values of Independence and Capability occupy the leading places from among the instrumental values, while the following: Forgiveness, Honesty, Helpfulness are on the final positions. The acquired findings confirm (significant level) the hypothesis that the ambivalent religiosity is connected with mentioned elements of the personality structure.Pozycja Crux mihi foederis arcus. W 40. rocznicę śmierci kardynała Adana Stefana SapiehyZawadzki, Roman M. (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 1992)Pozycja W stulecie zakładu Helclów w Krakowie (1890–1990)Witek, Dorota (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 1992)On the 4th of September 1990 was celebrated a centenary of opening “The Helcels’ National House of Social Welfare”. It is one of many philantropic institutions established in this city in XIX century. The Cracow Charity Society rendered the most significant services to a poor people from 1816 to 1914, taking care about adults and children. A number of asylums for poors were founded in Cracow and other cities from inspiration of Adam Chmielowski (Brother Albert), founder of The Congregation of Albertin Brothers. In 1893 was finished the construction of institution for orphan boys founded by duke Aleksander Lubomirski. Now this building is the seat of the Academy of Economy. The House of Poors founded by Anna and Ludwik Helcel, as one of most modern institutions of this kind in contemporary Europe, after many reconstructions and repairs, still functional and well equipped has not changed his purpose until today.Pozycja Psychologiczne aspekty cierpieniaMakselon, Józef (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 1992)Man’s common experience interpreted in the humanities points to the inevitability of suffering. Suffering was even termed a basic border situation (C. Jaspers). The so-called scientific psychology hardly analyses human suffering. S. Freud regarded culture as a source of suffering and the behaviourists did not see the need for an analysis of man’s inner experience. Radical change of the view on suffering was brought about in the works of V. E. Frankl who thought man to be homo patiens (to be a man means to suffer). There are various sources and kinds of suffering. Based on his own vast researches the author characterizes three kinds of man’s suffering: physical (pain, somatic diseases), psychical (hardships, mental disorders and illnesses) and spiritual (lack of a meaningful life, moral dilemmas). He also puts forward a hypothesis that a psychic suffering is a correlative between both mental and spiritual sufferings. Suffering fulfills a variety of functions in the life and personality of a human being; it can cause a personality degradation or can further a personality development. Therefore, we can speak of the ambivalent character of suffering. The elementary psychological problem, encountered in suffering, is to give suffering some meaning. In order to do this one must ask about future: for whom and what (for what cause) do I suffer? Whereas the question about the ultimate origin of suffering (why do suffer?) not only makes it possible to explain the issue fully but first of all allows us to recognize suffering as a mystery of human existence. The author proves that the analyses carried out by John Paul II in Salvifici doloris are coherent with the principles of logotherapy. However, the analyses are more profound since they point to individual, social, cultural and transcendental dimensions of suffering.
