Pozycja Eucharystia w procesie wtajemniczenia chrześcijańskiegoMegger, Andrzej (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2016)The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) presents the initiation sacraments as the foundation of every Christian life through which the faithful more profoundly and perfectly participate in the divine life and charity (see CCC 1212). The Eucharist makes this initiation complete and is its ultimate stage for the work of Jesus Christ culminates in it. The faithful are born anew in Baptism and strengthened by the gift of the Holy Spirit, who made them in the likeness of Christ. They unite with Him in His only Sacrifice. In this way, the communion of life with God and unity of the People of God become real, whereby the Church is revealed and built. Moreover, the Eucharist celebrated in a community deepens the communion with Christ, renews the life of grace received at Baptism and makes it grow in Christian charity. This is why the article starts with the Sacrament of the Altar presented as a source and height of life for the Church and its members. Then, the study goes on to present the preparation for the First Communion in the light of documents created by the Universal Church and the Church in Poland. This preparation plays a crucial role in introduction to the final Sacrament of initiation as well as in the shaping of Eucharistic spirituality.
