Pozycja Pentekostalizm LitwyKwoka, Ryszard (Wydawnictwo Pallottinum, 2015)This report presents an overview of Pentecostalism in Lithuania: its history, the doctrinal and cultic specificity, and activities. The Pentecostal movement in Lithuania has its roots in 1912. Religious freedom, restored in 1990, resulted in the creation of new local Pentecostal communities, which now reach approx. 2 thousand adult believers. Joining together to form church unions did not divest the Lithuanian Pentecostals’ subjectivity of local communities, which retained the right to freely present their own specificity in piety and theological preferences. These communities take many initiatives in education, pastoral care of prisoners, rehabilitation of addicts, helping of the poor and youth ministry. They try to work together not only within the Pentecostal organizations themselves, but also with other evangelical churches, and more broadly, at the level of ecumenism.
