The article discusses some of the formal aspects of Drewnowski’s work The Perfect Marriage and strives to answer the question of “what terms and cognitive measures Drewnowski adopted to express the reality of marriage in a more modern manner; one that is more precise, thematically closer to the contemporary reader and coherent with other fields of research. The main part deals with two significant issues: cognitive patterns and stylistic resources. The final section provides conclusions from previous considerations. Although The Perfect Marriage is classed as popular science, it does contain applications of some of Drewnowski’s metascientific ideas. These include terminological fine-tuning; expressing and searching for an analogy; the integrity of various approaches; as well as stressing complexity and unity. The work clearly attempts to express the reality of marriage in a precise and modern manner.
