The article presents methodological and epistemological interpretation of Tradition – basic category of catholic theology. It is assumed that theology is a system of related truths, and we can think about it as a science. The examinated material is the Second Vatican Council constitution Dei Verbum. It gives possibility of defining concept of Tradition, and lead to understand why Tradition is so important in method of knowing and method of theology. It is then necessary to answer the question whether catholic theology needs the interpretation in terms of system?
