Pozycja Od „Sollicitudo rei socialis” do „Caritas in veritate”. Solidarność kluczem do kwestii społecznej?Gocko, Jerzy (Towarzystwo Naukowe KUL, 2012)This paper tries to look at the principle (virtue) of solidarity as a potential tool for overcoming contemporary dangers of social life, especially in their economic aspect. The discussion concentrates on the historical development of the social teaching of the Church in the last two decades, that is from the announcement of John Paul II’s encyclical “Sollicitudo rei socialis” (30 December 1987) until the publication of Benedict XVI’s social encyclical “Caritas in veritate” (7 July 2009). The paper presents a comparative analysis of the two documents in question, focusing on their understanding of the concept of solidarity. Also, the paper proposes ways of its practical application as a principle that can regulate economic activities undertaken on the micro- and macro-social scale. The analysis developed in the paper also involves presenting the principles of social life and primary values as teleologically vital for the discourse within social teaching of the Church, along with the reference to the prophetic and critical aspects of that teaching, and to the change of orientation in moral theological studies it entails.Pozycja Personalistyczna koncepcja moralności gospodarczej w ujęciu Benedykta XVI i Jana Pawła II w kontekście współczesnego kryzysu ekonomicznegoZadroga, Adam (Towarzystwo Naukowe KUL, 2012)Among the many causes of the economic and financial crisis that has marred the world for some years now, there is one that is perhaps the most prominent. This is a moral cause. The context of the crisis shows that it is not enough to just argue for economic morality as such. An urgent answer is needed to the question of what direct ethical solutions can inform the socio-economic thought so that they can add to a more humane shape of the economic life of the world. Drawing upon the social teaching of John Paul II and Benedict XVI, the author of the paper explores the personalistic conception of economic morality, as the most adequate answer to the problems of contemporary economy. The first section discusses the most important elements of the moral criticism, concerning the causes of contemporary crisis, so well visible in the frequent financial scandals. The second section uses Benedict XVI’s encyclical Caritas in veritate to present the personalistic, holistic conception of economic morality. Finally, the main assumptions of the entrepreneurship ethics were exhibited as based on the teaching of John Paul II.Pozycja Sprawozdanie z Międzynarodowej Konferencji Naukowej „Etyka i ekonomia w świetle nauczania Benedykta XVI”.
