The paper is concerned with the meaning of the love. Author presents the theory of love by French personalist – Maurice Nedoncelle (†1976), according whom love is “decided will of mutual promotion of the persons.” It is scientifically and practically useful to distinguish three levels of love – as biological need (sex), as feeling-sentiment (eros), and as spiritual sacrifice (agape, caritas).
