The First Vatican Council, like the next Second Vatican Council, did not close the issue of infallibility, therefore it should be still required deepened reading and justification of subsequent generations of believers according to the spiritual needs. The spiritual and doctrinal turbulence that arises today should induce theologians to do more to deal with this very fundamental issue, important not only from the point of view of ecclesiology, but also of authentic ecclesial life, which suffers from the reduction of its importance and its understanding. There is no doubt that papal infallibility is a mysterious reality, and this is due to the fact that it is also an aspect of the mystery of faith, that is, the presence of God in the heart of human reality. Therefore, infallibility itself is a dogma of faith, and therefore this is also the subject of spiritual life and theological reflection in the Church.
