This article addresses one of the most problematic issues in the Christian life: how to combine the spiritual life and the apostolate. At this moment in which the Church raises the new evangelization as its major challenge, the understanding of both dimensions of Christian life needs urgent integration. Teresa of Jesus in her time also suffered this dilemma, which kept her preoccupied during her lifetime. She could not be content being a cloistered nun, she wanted to help Christ in his mission. Teresa helps us discover an “experiential and Evangelical” solution to this dilemma.
