Pozycja Aramejskie rękopisy Księgi Tobita z Qumran (4Q196-200) – historia i egzegezaKowalski, Kamil Jan (Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski Jana Pawła II, 2017)The year 1995 was pivotal for research on the Book of Tobit, when the Aramaic and Hebrew manuscripts of this work found at Qumran were first published. The present article unfolds the history of the manuscripts’ discovery in 1952 in Qumran Cave 4, then the long process of publishing the recovered texts, and that publication’s effect on the renewal of scholarly interest in the Book of Tobit. The first part describes the Qumran texts’ first publication as well as the significant later works which included the manuscript texts along with their translations. In the next section the author describes the actual condition and contents of the discovered manuscripts. Next he explores the subject of the intertextuality of the book, focusing on Greek and Latin references known before 1952. The fourth section of the article is the presentation of status quaestionis – selected issues regarding the Book of Tobit and how they have been impacted by the discovered texts, 4Q196-200. In particular, it reconsiders the language in which the book was originally written, the compositional integrity of the text, and the matter of origins and the influence of ancient Near Eastern culture (especially of Words of Ahikar) upon the structure and contents of the biblical text. The last part of the article compares the Aramaic fragments with the two known Greek versions of Tobit (both the longer and shorter) and presents the results of this analysis. The purpose of this article is to show the great importance of the finding and publication of the 4Q196-200 manuscripts for advancing research on the biblical book, and to retrace the course of such research on the Book of Tobit, beginning in 1952 until now.Pozycja Franz Posset, Johann Reuchlin (1455-1522). Il rapporto tra la figura della Sapienza e la realtà della mortZieliński, Marcin (Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski Jana Pawła II, 2017)The article analyzes the theme of death in the book of Wisdom, with particular attention to the relationship between Wisdom and death. After a general introduction to the theme of death and the concept of “second death”, the author analyzes the marriage metaphor, which occupies an important place in the second part of the book. The author proceeds with the analysis of vocabulary and images related to the marriage metaphor. Searching for a possible counter-metaphor, he indicates the image from Wis 1,16, where the relation of the wicked with death is described as a tragic denial of the ideals presented in Wis 8,16,17-18. The elements that link the two images and at the same time make them totally different are indicated. Pseudo-Solomon emphasizes the beauty of the relationship with Wisdom on the one hand and the drama of the sinners on the other, to conclude that the wicked, seeking to enter into a friendly relationship with death, get exactly the opposite of what the sage receives from the Wisdom in the II part of the Book of Wisdom.Pozycja Lorne R. Znaczenie szczegółów narracji dla badań historycznych i literackichMalina, Artur (Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski Jana Pawła II, 2017)The most recent document of the Pontifical Biblical Commission, entitled The Inspiration and Truth of Sacred Scripture, cautions against an oversimplified equivalence between every single narrative element of the Gospel text and the details of the events in the life and the ministry of Jesus. The present study examines some of these elements in the framework of the Markan passages, arguing that they should be taken into consideration not only in literary approaches to the Gospels, but in historical ones as well. Otherwise, the historically reconstructed picture of Jesus contrasts with His image in the Gospels.Pozycja William Randolph Bynum, The Fourth Gospel and the Scriptures. (Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski Jana Pawła II, 2017)Zachariah does not belong to the group of main protagonists of the New Testament. He is even hardly a main figure of Lucan two-volume work. And yet, he does play some important role in the narrative of Luke-Acts. Putting him into the first scene of the Infant narrative and juxtaposing him with Mary, Mother of Jesus, are very clear signs of it. While the full picture of Zechariah is drawn in three consecutive scenes: the annunciation in the Temple (Łk 1,5-25); the birth of John (1,57-66) and Zechariah’s prophecy called „Benedictus” (1,67-80), two of his main features are especially elaborated: his priesthood and fatherhood. The paper gathers Lucan evidence on the matter showing that to the third evangelist Zechariah is a very special kind of father.
