Pozycja Krytyka liberalizmu na łamach tygodnika „Myśl Katolicka” (1908‒1914)Mazur, Jan (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 1993)The present article refers to one of the subjects discussed in Myśl Katolicka, a weekly edited in Częstochowa from 1908 till 1914 for lay Catholics, who wanted to spread the „integral” doctrine of The Roman Catholic Church, especially the papal teaching. The editors engaged in polemics with modernism ‒ an intellectual movement, that had been offically condemned by the Apostolic See; as a consequence, liberalism in question was an issue constantly presented in the columns of the weekly. Obviously, the choice of the subject is not a random: liberalism continues to have a great ‒ and growing ‒ impact on the cultural situation throughout the world, especially in Europe. The authors of the article discuss liberalism mainly from the philosophical point of view. Their citical evaluation of the movement aims at making the lay Catholics aware of the negative effects liberalism produces in almost every area of human life. Simultaneously, the critics makes a call to counteract by presenting the Christian concept of freedom in the social life. The main accusation against liberalism is its abuse of freedom, which consists in treating freedom ‒ a mean of fulfillment of the human vocation ‒ as an aim for itself. Conseqently, liberalism recognizes human freedom as absolute value for itself, whereas ‒ from Christian point of view ‒ it is merely a mean of achieving the supernatural aim ‒ God.Pozycja La famiglia „S” della tradizione manoscritta della “Vita Sancti Pauli Primi Eremitae” di san GirolamoDegórski, Bazyli R. (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 1993)Artykuł o. The Latin manuscript tradition of the „Vita Sancti Pauli” (w: W.A. Oldfather, Studies in the Text Tradition of St. Jerome’s „Vitae Patrum”, Urbana 1943, 65-142). Wspomniany benedyktyn zamieścił w swoim dziele najstarszy manuskrypt z tej rodziny, noszący nazwę Sessorianus 41 (1479 volumen), pochodzący z IX wieku. Artykuł niniejszy prezentuje pozostałe rękopisy, mianowicie: Vallicellianus Cod. D. 2 z XIV wieku; Vaticanus Palatinus Lat. 853 z XIV/XV wieku, Vaticanus Palatinus Lat. 844 z XV wieku i Vaticanus Chisianus Lat. H. IV 119 z ok. 1460 roku. Numeracja poszczególnych kodeksów, którą posługuje się autor opracowania, została zaczerpnięta z jego wcześniejszego podstawowego dzieła: Edizione critica della „Vita Sancti Pauli Primi Eremitae” di Girolamo (Excerptum dissertationis ad Doctoratum in theologia et scientiis patristićis), wydanego przez Instytut Patrystyczny „Augustinianum” w Rzymie w 1987 roku.Pozycja Nowa interpretacja dogmatów jako owoc inspiracji soborowejŁukaszuk, Tadeusz D. (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 1993)Pozycja Ogólna charakterystyka adhortacji apostolskiej „Pastores dabo vobis” Jana Pawła II ‒ wprowadzenieMazur, Jan (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 1993)The presented apostolic adhortation Pastores dabo vobis, announced on 25th March 1992, is the fruit of works of the episcopal synod dedicated to the formation of priests which took place from 30th September till 28th October 1990. The Author of the adhortation, Pope John Paul II, elaborated a synthesis of the subject discussed by the above mentioned synod. The document consists of six chapters preceded by an extensive introduction, and an invocative cocnlusion. Generally, the character of the adhortation is of a mainly pastoral kind. It has been directed to the bishops, priests and lay worshipers, so it is an intraecclesiastical document. The basic source the Author refers to is the synodal document “Propositiones”, worked out by particular language groups participating in the synod. The title of the document, taken from The Book of Jeremiah, seems to be especially appropriate. The verse Pastores dabo vobis (Jr 3, 15), as an utterance of God Himself, contains a deep message pointing out to the proper construction that should be put on every priest's vocation. Every such vocation carries the seal of the mystery of being chosen by God; thus, the status of the priesthood, marked with human weakness as it nearly always is, can never be depreciated in relation to this mystery. It is worth mentioning perhaps, that the present article was delivered as a lecture during the scientific symposium at The Higher Seminary of St. Paul’s Order in Cracow on 19th November 1992.Pozycja Podstawy oceny moralnej życia społecznego w świetle encykliki „Veritatis splendor” Jana Pawła IIMazur, Jan (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 1993)In his new encyclical the Pope discusses the fundamental problems of social and moral teaching of the Roman Catholic Church in the context of the current social situation in the world. He observes the spreading of „grave forms of social and economical injustice as well as political corruption” Simultaneously, he perceives growing „resentment of the huge mass of people, whose rights have been trampled on”. This situation, which calls for a prompt remedial action, poses ‒ says John Paul II ‒ the contemporary social question. The Pope sees the effective solution to that question on moral ground; therefore, he stresses the need of renewal ‒ for individuals as well as for societies ‒ through which justice, solidarity, honesty and openness might reign in the world. Evaluating the phenomena of the social, economic and political life John Paul II points to the necessity of connecting them with the evangelical concept of freedom. Human freedom, according to the Pontiff, should always be subordinated to the transcendent truth of the man, since only then it can lead to the authentic good of a human person. Considering current threats to the social order and politics, the Author pays special attention to the new kind of totalitarianism originating from the alliance forged between the ethical relativism and democracy. The Pope refers also to the last edition of the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church. He lists social virtues as well as the acts, which are contrary to human dignity. In the detailed catalogue of the latter one can find such acts as tax fraud, posessions overdue or exploiting someone else’s being in an extremity. Obviously, this is a new interpretation of the commandment „You shall not steal” ‒ an interpretation stressing the personalistic basis the commandment had been established on. One cannot possibly ignore the fact, that it is the Decalogue ‒ especially the commandments from its second table - that provides for the Author of the encyclical the basis for moral evaluations of social, economical and political life. Obedience to this law is only then possible, when the mankind realizes the meaning of the fundamental relation between Truth, Good and Freedom. The decline of this awareness poses the painful social question of our time.Pozycja Próba zestawienia podstawowych problemów moralnych podjętych w encyklice „Veritatis splendor” Jana Pawła IIĆmiel, Henryk (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 1993)Pozycja Sumienie a prawda w ujęciu encykliki „Veritatis splendor” Jana Pawła IIPłatek, Józef Stanisław (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 1993)Pozycja Teologia Psalmu 99Trzmielewski, Sławomir (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 1993)
