    This article is firstly focused on demonstrating sense and need for formulating ideals and models of upbringing. Implications of Thomistic model of upbringing in this work are main source of considerations. Secondly, authors want to show basic assumptions of postmodern ethic and its influences on shaping of modern upbringing models. Assumptions of postmodern model are confronted with standards of behaviour which are commonly accepted. The next aim of the work is also to get answer to question about status of Thomistic education model nowadays.

    Między oswajaniem a swojskością. Ziemie zachodnie w opowiadaniach Zygmunta Trziszki

    The theme of this article is the motives of homeliness and taming place in prose by Zygmunt Trziszka, which relates to Polish Western Lands. According to official cultural policy, the writers were supposed to present the lands attached to Poland after World War II as „eternally Polish”. According to this propaganda, so-called Regained Territories were to be homeliness. This assumption was to authenticate about the monolithicity the state and legitimize the post-war displacements. Meanwhile, the settlers has just tamed this lands. They arrived to a place which for many of them was unfamiliar and temporary. In the stories of Zygmunt Trziszka can be seen implementation of propaganda discourse, but also attempt to denial it. Ambivalence in the perception of postYalta reality make sprose of Trziszka i san interesting case – its allows to capture differences between the postulates of state power and individual experiences of forced migrants.

    The article constitutes another voice in a discussion referring to the model of legal education of the students of law. It concerns a problem that was bothering both academic and legal environment in the past few years: the problem of ethical preparation of future practitioners of legal occupations. The author depicts the theory of teaching legal ethics in the Polish departments of law and the position of legal ethics among other academic courses in legal studies.

    Problemy psychologiczne kobiet jako skutek deficytu obecności ojca w dzieciństwie

    The article aims to show the role and meaning of the father in his daughter’s life. For a daughter who grew up without a father – who was absent in physical and emotional way – what results are serious consequences which affect her adult life. For example, those results are different types of psychological difficulties (of emotional, intrapsychic, or interpersonal nature). The author’s survey of the cases is based on the letters of adult daughters to their fathers, which contain a kind of retrospection. On the basis of the analyzed material what has been distinguished are the following consequences: the deficit of time spent with father becomes for daughter the cause of her inability to establish interpersonal relationships and create relationships; the deficit of affection shown by father is a source of impoverishment in his daughter’s emotional life; father’s absence in or abandonment of the family is for his daughter the cause of stress and depression.

    W kierunku realistycznej metafizyki wartości – przyczynek do dyskusji

    Even though axiology as a separate philosophical discipline is relatively young, with estimated time of its birth in the mid-nineteenth century, the reflection on the values, which is the subject of the axiological inquiries, has been around for centuries. It reaches the ancient beginnings of the philosophy itself. The matter of the way the values exist, their quantity and nature is being very actively discussed nowadays and creates multiple strategies, mostly connected with the realistic or idealistic starting point of philosophy itself. That is the reason why we are dealing with many definitions and classifications of axiological values. It turns out that today, the category of the values has not only inter- but multidisciplinary character. That is why we are talking about values virtually everywhere. Not only in philosophy, but we can find them in everyday life, social sciences, art, music, mathematics or economy. Unfortunately understanding of values in the latter – seems to be specifically close for many of us. This article belongs to the dynamic philosophical discussion about the metaphysics of values, from the point of view of metaphysics’ realism and objectivism. Within this strategy the author of this article tries to answer the few questions: firstly- what the values are, further on – what is their nature and the ontological status, to finish with selected examples of typology and classification of values and the possibility of sorting them out hierarchically. Accepting existential pluralism of the surrounding reality as an axiom – the author accepts axiological pluralism as well, in relation to the goodness as the condition of the hierarchization of the “world of values”.
