Pozycja Czynnik religijny w wychowaniu i samowychowaniuParysiewicz, Beata M. (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2015)The article takes up the problem of understanding the religious education in the contemporary social and cultural context. It analyses the leading contemporary cultural attitudes, those of activism and autonomy in the perspective of building personal holiness of the believer, confronting them with the attitudes of submission to the will of God in a spirit of humility. The article addresses the issue of human subjectivity and its absolutist interpretation, in which freedom has no limits, which makes it difficult to adopt the Christian ideal of education, based on the active search for the will of God and obedience to it. The article also takes up the question of dogmas as a form of objectification of human religious experience, necessary for the proper development of religiosity and the way to holiness of life. The last issue discussed is a prayer as a tool for spiritual development and the obstacles and their consequences in the proper understanding and use of prayers, caused by mixing orders of spiritual and cultural myths.Pozycja Death of a child on the threshold of a new life and support for the bereaved familyHošťâlková, Marta; Opatrný, Dominik (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2015)Although modem medicine reduced the amount of child deaths significantly, it cannot save the life of every child. As an outcome, a death of a child is perceived as something completely abnormal now. The article discusses the situation of families, who lost one of their children, and illustrates it by examples from our practice of health care chaplains. It also presents the support for these families available in the Czech Republic.Pozycja Differentiation, adolescent autonomy from the perspective of family therapySzücs, Attila András; Árkovits, Amaryl; Dorn, Krisztina (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2015)Artykuł wychodzi z założenia, że późna i nie zawsze całkowita dyferencjacja z rodziny pochodzenia jest istotnym problemem w naszym społeczeństwie. Zamierzamy omówić tę kwestię, odnosząc się do modelu terapii indywidualnego rozwoju oraz modelu terapii rodzinnej. Praca ta przedstawia przegląd, jak różne szkoły terapii rodzinnej, szczególnie szkoła międzypokoleniowa, traktują kwestię indywidualnej dyferencjacji. Drugim modelem tu przedstawionym jest model Erika Eriksona, model indywidualnego psychospołecznego rozwoju. Podsumowując, staramy się zapewnić dogłębne zrozumienie problemów i trudności dyferencjacji oraz zasugerować możliwe sposoby, by relacje rodzice - dzieci mogły rozwijać się tak, by dziecko osiągnęło bezpieczną dorosłość z przyrodzonej niedojrzałości dorastania.Pozycja „Etyczne aspekty edukacji seksualnej dzieci”. The new law serves as an opportunity for generally reflecting on the dynamics in liberal societies and the durability of once determined boundaries in modern states. Although certain techniques remain prohibited in the home country, they are usually provided in some other countries and will thus be “available”. Consequently, the challenge for an ethical reflection is increasingly shifting to the question as to how individuals on their own responsibility will deal with the growing options of reproductive medicine. A responsible handling needs to face the fact that reproductive medicine will have a profound effect on the biographies of present and future human beings. Unlike it is often stated, reproduction and procreation always have a holistic dimension and will sooner or later involve the concerned individuals not merely on a physical, but also on an emotional and personal level. Therefore, an individual ethics of responsibility must not only relate to those consequences which are immediately visible and accessible, but needs to develop a much more comprehensive approach. In addition, it needs to be aware o f the escalation tendencies inherent in these techniques, and of the danger that there might be taken steps which in retrospect clearly seem unjustifiable to the subjects involved.Pozycja Otwartość samotnych matek na przyjęcie dziecka w okresie ciąży i okołoporodowymLandwójtowicz, Paweł (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2015)In order to become an adult, mature person who functions well in a society, a newborn human needs a long term attention and care from people loving them. A complete family constitutes an optimum environment for the process of upbringing. However, in our society there is a large group of people, mainly women, who - due to different life events – take care of their children single handedly. Conceiving a baby begins an important and difficult period in every womans life. During that time women undergo a number of somatic transformations and changes - in appearance, mood, emotions, relations with other people as well as changes in terms of social roles performed by them. In the situation of single motherhood pregnancy, childbirth and a postnatal period revive past conflicts and problems with people from the family of origin. The openness to accept a newborn child in mother’s life becomes a key issue of that period. In order to accomplish that, a woman needs to accept herself as a mother, her state of pregnancy and the fact of the baby’s existence. It turns out that experiencing pregnancy, childbirth and a postnatal period to a large extent depends on social support. The article raises a following issue - how the first stages of becoming a single mother - such as pregnancy and a perinatal period - can influence a single woman and her openness for a newborn baby. It also discusses the principles of accompanying a single mother in her weighty life decisions, which sometimes oscillate around the doubts whether to accept a child in her life or place him or her for adoption.Pozycja Polska adaptacja Skali Przebaczenia Małżeńskiego (MOFS) F. G. Paleari, F.D. Finchama, C. RegaliiBrudek, Paweł; Steuden, Stanisława (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2015)The following article outlines the results of academic endeavours to develop a Polish adaptation of F.G. Paleari, F.D. Fincham and C. Regalias Marital Offence-Specific Forgiveness Scale (MOFS). The results obtained through the Polish version are comparable to those obtained with the help of the original research tool, which proves that the Polish MOFS scale adaptation can be successfully used for research purposes. The scale consists of 10 items covering two dimensions: Benevolence and Resentment-Avoidance. The scale testing the procedure involved a research sample consisting of 745 people. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient oscillated between 0.72 and 0.87.Pozycja Problemy bioetyczne ingerencji medycznych zaburzających genetyczne i epigenetyczne uwarunkowania rozwoju człowiekaMidro, Alina T.; Hoser, Henryk F. (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2015)Introduction to the practice of modern medical procedures disturbing genetic and epigenetic determinants of human development leading to genetic disorders and/or reduced survival as a result of congenital malformations raises a number of bioethical problems. Due to its genetic and biological basis of its functioning the human being is a human being from the conception. From the point of view of a clinical geneticist, procreation of a new human being is the creation of a new individual genome, that is database on the genetic information obtained from the parents through their reproductive cells and then starting the duplication and imprinting (labelling), and creating opportunities for its reading and modifying in the course of further development (gene expression and its regulation). In the article there are discussed problems arising from health risk, life and dignity of the child and their parents resulting from the use of in vitro fertilization methods.Pozycja Recenzja: Jaroslav Vlček, Zapomenutá pravda. Der Streit um Ehe und Familie, Herder Verlag, Freiburg 2014, ss. 311Podzielny, Janusz (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2015)Pozycja Satysfakcja ze związku małżeńskiego a poziom hedonistycznego i eudajmonistycznego dobrostanu psychicznego małżonkówKrok, Dariusz (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2015)The aim of this article is to examine the complex relationships between marital satisfaction and hedonic and eudaimonic well-being of the spouses. Although the overall positive association between marital quality and well-being is well established, several important issues remain unexplored. As the previous research demonstrated, the protective effects of marital satisfaction on well-being were amplified when spouses were satisfied with the marriage, whereas the association was reversed when partners were exposed to conflicts and distortions in communication. In order to verify the hypotheses a hundred and twenty couples were given a set of four questionnaires to assess the level of marital satisfaction, and hedonic and eudaimonic well-being. The results showed that marital satisfaction was positively linked to both hedonic and eudaimonic well-being. However, not all of the dimensions of marital satisfaction were connected with well-being in the same way. Intimacy, self-realization, and similarity showed positive links with both hedonic and eudaimonic well-being, while disappointment had negative associations with well-being measures. Interestingly the relationship between marital satisfaction and eudaimonic well-being was stronger than between marital satisfaction and hedonic well-being. The results revealed that the associations of marriage satisfaction with well-being depend on the particular dimensions of marital interactions and the ways in which well-being is conceptualized.Pozycja Substance abuse after foster care: a comparison of those leaving institutional and family placementsGocman, Małgorzata; Szarzyńska, Małgorzata (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2015)The present study is a part of the international project “Aging out study” describing the functioning of the people growing up outside their own family, in a foster care system. The aim of the current study was to examine substance abuse (alcohol, marijuana and other drugs) by the youth leaving foster care in Poland. The study involved 134 respondents, including 58 leaving institutional placements and 76 leaving family placements. Substance abuse was measured using key items from the Diagnostic Interview Schedule (DIS). The results showed that over 80% of the youth reported one or more symptom of alcohol abuse/dependence, about 8% had a DIS diagnosis of alcohol abuse or dependence, and about 20% had a diagnosis of marijuana or other drug abuse/dependence. No significant differences in rates of diagnosis for substance abuse/dependence were found when comparing the youth leaving orphanages and those leaving foster families.Pozycja The role of adverse socioeconomic conditions (poverty) and material deprivation of children in predicting parental behaviourBilić, Vesna; Davidović, Nikolina (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2015)The global economic crisis has not only shaken up the economy, but also family functioning, in which the most vulnerable groups took the hardest hit – children and adolescents. The goal of this scientific paper is to examine the role of an adverse socioeconomic family environment and the perception of material deprivation of children informing an experience of parental acceptance, rejection and control. 610 participants from primary schools of Croatia were involved in the research (51.6% girls and 44.8% boys, not all respondents provided the information about their sex), with average age being 13.88 years (SD = 0.73). Along with the Questionnaires of general data and SES questionnaire, the research included the Scale of material deprivation of students and Scale of perception of parental behaviour – SPRP (Macuka, 2008). The results of regression analysis indicate that the bigger the material deprivation of children, the smaller the amount of acceptance, and the larger the rejection of both parents and m other’s control. In the case of anticipating the control of the father, it does not have any predictive power. It was indicated that material deprivation of children is a more significant predictor of parental behaviour (acceptance, rejection and control) than the socioeconomic status. The conclusion points out the need for creating a family empowerment program and the importance of caring parental behaviour, along with the devastating effects of inadequate parental actions.
