Pozycja Apteka jako alegoryczny obraz świata. XVII-wieczne malowidła z klasztoru pijarów w RzeszowieJagla, Jowita (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2013)The article is focused on 17. century ceiling paintings in the Piarist monastery pharmacy in Rzeszow. In that time the city itself and its surroundings had a pretty coherent and rich pharmaceutical tradition. From 16. century there was observable a rapid origin of pharmacies in Przemysl, Jaroslaw, Lancut, Biecz, Krosno, Przeworsk, Sanok and Rzeszow. Unfortunately, the first partition of Poland was followed by the collapse of pharmacies and the closedown of a large part of them. The next wave of the decline of pharmacies came by the end of 18. century together with the cancel of the Jesuits and other religious orders which used to lead pharmacies. At the same time very the supply of pharmaceutical personnel from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow started to decrease. The Piarist monastery pharmacy became a historical monument of Rzeszow and its fine art. What undoubtedly creates the beauty and magical mood of the pharmacy are exceptional paintings which cover the barrel-vault and its surroundings in the main hall. They were discovered when the monastery buildings was transformed for the museum in 1958-1962. The performer of that thematically rich polychrome created in 1688-1697 is a painter of the great talent, Wojciech Ziemecki (Limecki), who took the religious name of Luke. His Rzeszow paintings have already been analyzed and described by J. Swieboda, L. Czyz, D. Drag, T. Drupka and I. Ziewiec. However, the authoress claims that the quantity of themes and the specificity of approaches make that they need some fresh perspective which was not gained by former interpretations.Pozycja Jezus i Jego Krzyż – rozważania na marginesie myśli teologicznej Josepha RatzingeraKaczmarek, Piotr (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2013)The article is a short analysis of the theological teaching of Joseph Ratzinger. It is focused on the idea of the Jesus’ Cross. The first part of the text considers a following subject: if Jesus were to be separated from His Cross, sooner or later such a theology would become a heresy. Such a heterodox consequence can be found in almost every Christological heresy. Cardinal Ratzinger discusses this kind of thinking which he meets in liberation theology, i.e. an ideological movement promoted by Gustavo Gutiérrez mainly in South America and Africa. The second part of the article is concentrated on the theology of liturgy, especially on that of the Eucharist. Joseph Ratzinger seeks to prove that the Eucharist is not a feast, a banquet, or a collective meal. The main sense of the Eucharist can only be found in the Cross where the Eucharist reveals its identity as a Holy Sacrifice of Jesus Christ the Victim-Priest. In the conclusion the author claims that one cannot understand Jesus Christ without His Cross, because it is upon the foundation of the Cross that the Holy Faith of the Church, the creed of the Church, is built.Pozycja M. Radziłowicz, (Ełcki samorząd miejski w latach 1990-2010 (rozprawa doktorska napisana pod kierunkiem ks. dr. hab. Wojciecha Guzewicza, prof. UWM)Strękowski, Stanisław (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2013)Pozycja Praktyka stosowania środków zapobiegawczych w polskich prokuraturach apelacyjnych w latach 2007-2010Charko, Dariusz (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2013)The article is concentrated on preventive means which were used by Polish prosecutor’s offices of appeal in 2007-2010 in order to protect the correct course of criminal proceedings. The author starts with defining the essence of preventive means, and continues with comparing particular courts of appeal in respect of their practice in using such means. Each court is analyzed in respect of kinds of the means applied and the frequency of their usage. The analyses lead to a series of conclusions which show these courts of appeal where coercive means are practiced frequently, and those which abstain from applying them. They reveal these courts of appeal which regard isolation means as best guarantors of the proper criminal proceedings, and those where non-isolation means seem to be more convenient ones. They also present statistical changes in using coercive means by particular courts of appeal in 2007-2010, and determine trends followed by such structures of courts.Pozycja Przygotowanie do małżeństwa w świetle prasy młodzieżowej w Polsce w latach 2006-2010Guzewicz, Wojciech; Józefowicz, Natalia (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2013)The article is focused on the problem of the preparation for marriage in the light of the youth press in Poland in 2006-2010. The analyses cover two Catholic magazines – Growing (“Wzrastanie”) and A Little Sunday Guest (“Maly Gosc Niedzielny”), and a liberal-leftist periodical Girl (“Dziewczyna”). The purpose of this article is to show differences in the respect of the contents of these journals, and analyze what consequences can follow their reading. Often young people reach after these magazines and do not know that patterns promoted by them fall deeply into their consciousness and influence their life choices. The article tries to show such values as faithfulness, pre-marriage purity, and responsibility. It discovers that texts of the Girl magazine profane these values. Catholic publications, in turn, defend human dignity and try to incline young people to think about their lives. They promote talking with parents about values which should be passed to their children in order to set up properly their personality. The article also raises the problem of education by reading and watching movies. It analyzes which books and movies are recommended by these magazines as noteworthy. In its last part it discusses the meaning of social life. Both Catholic magazines recommend the participation in such associations where young people can learn more about empathy, and expand their horizons. Considering entertainment, sports, beauty, and fashion, the Girl journal presents them in the “light” way, where entertainment is treated as a way for having a good fun, though sometimes it alerts against dangers, such as drugs and suspicious disco places. Growing and A Little Sunday Guest, in turn, propose pretty more constructive way of spending free time, which can develop not only the body, but also the whole personality of young people.Pozycja Rekolekcje szkolne ewangelizacją młodzieżyTurowski, Wojciech (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2013)The article is focused on school retreats as a place of the new evangelization. The considerations are mainly based on opinion polls which were conducted among young people after Lent retreats held at the seminary in Lomza (in 2009) and at the veterinary and general education secondary school in Lomza (in 2012). The author’s attention was paid to three aspects of the new evangelization, namely zeal, method, and expression. The analyses suggest that (1) young people are careful observers and can distinguish reliable religious testimony from mere preaching supported by social engineering and persuasion training, (2) towards audiovisual means one should keep moderate attitude and resist a temptation of making them an end in itself, (3) young people love to sing, listen to the good music, watch the pantomime, and be exposed to positive examples of life, which makes an opportunity to face them with the new evangelization. In the conclusion the author claims that school retreats are liked by young people and in a certain way they do evangelize them.Pozycja Sprawozdanie z sympozjum naukowego „Przepowiadanie. Od starożytności do współczesności” – Ełk, 30 stycznia 2013 r.Sieńkowski, Marcin (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2013)Pozycja Sprawozdanie z sympozjum naukowego „Wiara i kultura. Razem czy osobno?” zorganizowanego przez Papieski Wydział Teologiczny w Warszawie – Warszawa, 13 kwietnia 2013 r.Kaczmarek, Piotr (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2013)Pozycja Stosunki państwo-Kościół w PRL w latach 1957-1961. Ujęcie analityczneTruszczyński, Marek (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2013)In 1956 Wladyslaw Gomulka, the leader of the communist party in Poland, appeared as a deliverer of the nation from Stalinism. Meanwhile, in the second half of 1957 his internal policy began more and more to resemble that which he fought against as a comrade “Wieslaw.” This is truly a historical paradox, in which a revolutionist while gaining political power gets similar to those whose values he previously opposed to. No one imagined that the Polish road to socialism would lead (even if partially, but still) through Stalin patterns. The period 1957-1961 was a very turbulent time in relations between the Roman Catholic Church and the People’s Republic of Poland. The article presents selected events from that period. In the second half of 1957 the conciliation policy of Gomulka’s government reached its end. The communist regime in Poland started to repress the Church for her alleged hidden fascism and open clericalism. The author casts light on such facts which deal with controversies about the presence of religion lessons in school, the millennium solemnity of Poland, ethical issues, social claims of workers, the presence of religious symbols in social life, and the autonomy of the Church. His analyses show that the “thaw” period of 1956 was replaced by the “cold” time of 1957-1961 and the restoration of the dogmatic Marxism by Gomulka’s government.
