Geneza i motywacje powołań kapłańskich na terenie obecnej diecezji ełckiej w latach 1945-1998
Salamon, Marian (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2020)
For the development of priestly vocations significant impact have well organized and dynamically conducted pastoral activities. It was found in the research that almost half of the priests were interested in priesthood already in the years of primary school. The significant influence then had talks of young people with priests. The recognition of the calling was made through the participation of young people in religious groups, especially in the Oaza movement. Altar boys, as well as Holy Mass and adoration services have a beneficial effect on the roots and development of priestly vocations. In choosing a vocation, religious motives were predominant. The quality of moral life of the society and the personal authority of the priest are also important.

Konsekracja kapłańska w aramejskich wizjach Lewiego oraz w tekstach biblijnych – analiza porównawcza
Lewczyk, Dymitr (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2020)
This work is an attempt at a comparative analysis of canonical and apocryphal texts about the priestʼs ordination. Based on Chapter 29 in the Book of Exodus and Chapter 7 of the Aramaic Levi Document, we will try to show the common elements accompanying this ceremony and explain their meaning. First, we will try to find the reasons for the election to the priestly ordination of heroes in the given descriptions, and mostly of Aaron and his sons in the Book of Exodus and Levi in A.L.D. We will also try to show the causes of similarity and difference in the rites accompanying the ceremony of priestly ordination. An important part of the work is the description of the history of the individual elements of the ordinance, such as dressing up in priesthood robes, anointing, and the idiomatic expression “filling hands”. Based essentially on the contents of the above passages, we will try to capture their direct relationship with the other texts in the Scriptures, discussed in the Aramaic Levi Document and with some other books of apocryphal literature.

Problematyka ekologii wnętrza człowieka inspirowana encykliką „Laudato si” papieża Franciszka
Kuczyńska, Helena (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2020)
It is every Christian’s task to strengthen his/her relationship with God and other men, to obey the Gospel and to reconcile the teachings of the Church with the demands of the external world. These tasks require hard work, and they can be a mission in our daily social activities. This is the essence of the spiritual life of Christians living in the contemporary world. Human values and conscience are shaped by the family, and families that fully meet an individual’s demand for love and compassion saw the seeds of a civilization of love. Pope Francis calls for a global “ecological conversion” by acknowledging that ecological spirituality stems from our faith. The teachings of the Bible influence our thoughts, feelings and actions. Our efforts to protect the environment should be based on more than just formal doctrine. They require a certain degree of mysticism that motivates people to take individual action and participate in community work. “Ecological conversion” is the next step in our relationship with Christ that sheds a new light on the surrounding world.

Rev. Prof. Jonas Totoraitis MIC: Ideas and Conceptions
Katilius, Algimantas (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2020)
The topic of this article is devoted to the discussion of the ideas of cultural and social activities propounded by Professor of History, Rev. Jonas Totoraitis (1872-1941). It also deals with a question of what conditions were present for their implementation in the early twentieth century. The first idea to establish the Society to Investigate the History of Lithuania was largely predicated on his professional background as historian. Another idea was indebted to his perception of the duty of the priest. It manifested itself in the aspiration to set up a special organization (association) of Roman Catholic clergy to tackle world-view issues of society at large. Another field of Rev. Totoraitisʼ activities was organizing youth in the countryside. His most significant contribution was theoretical: a study entitled “Catholic Youth Associations”, published in the journal “Vadovas” (Leader), and some time later republished in a separate booklet “The Guardianship of Youth and Its Associations”.

Personal Uniqueness and Communion: a Thomistic Approach
Bothur, Ian (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2020)
Neither individuality nor substance can provide a sufficient account for the uniqueness of human persons. This problem is demonstrated with respect to the various ways one can describe the human person; matter, substantial form, essence, and nature. It is nature that describes beings as they exist. Because human nature is distinctively rational, human beings are most appropriately described as persons. An investigation of personality reveals that each person stands in a unique relation to being by virtue of the acts of intellect and will. Therefore, only personality provides a sufficient account of the uniqueness of individual persons. But because personal uniqueness is an aspect of relation, it cannot be conceived outside that relation. And as the person’s relation to being is tantamount to his ability to enter into communion, uniqueness necessarily implies communion.

    Osobné povolanie ako životná výzva
Hospodár, Michal (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2020)
One of the most important decisions in every personʼs life is the one regarding vocation. The choice of oneʼs own vocation is one of the basic human and religious issues. Who has found his vocation usually enjoys a happy life. Tomáš Cardinal Špidlík, whose anniversary of birth and death we commemorate (* 17 December 1919; † 16 April 2010), dedicated a separate book to this topic. In a form of dialogue, he offers his experience in discerning one’s personal vocation and in decrypting Godʼs will. He pays special attention to the spiritual vocation and questions related to it. In the following text, we will try to reflect on selected areas regarding the issue of existence and vocation choice in the context of Špidlíkʼs experience. The topic is very current because the priestly and spiritual vocations in Slovakia have been falling fast in recent years.
