    Trynitarne podstawy posługi charytatywnej Kościoła
Przygoda, Wiesław (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2002)
The Church’s charitable service is a practical form of putting into practice God’s commandment of love of the neighbour given to Christ’s disciples, on His inspiration and in close unity with Him. The Divine Persons’ intra-trinitary love is the ontological foundation of human love. Also the Church’s charitable service has its origin, its roots and aim in the eternal existence of God-Love. The truth about the Holy Trinity shows that love is God’s gift and man is called to accept this gift. The Church is a community of persons called to everyday life with love. Charitable service is a necessary action for introducing people who are in need into the experience of God’s love. The Trinitarian dogma also shows the meaning and aim of all actions increasing people’s mutual love. Participation in God’s love and glory for ever will be a complement for human love’s deficiencies as well as a reward for the offered sacrifices.

    Przejawy dojrzałości chrześcijańskiej
Słotwińska, Helena (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2002)
Although Christian maturity is concerned with human spirit, it also manifests itself on the outside. Their basic symptoms include intensive sacramental life, starting from living with sacraments of Christian initiation (baptism, confirmation, Eucharist), and the practice of Christian life (Holy Mass, prayer, apostolic activity). The necessity should be stressed here of continuing and developing what a Christian receives in the sacraments of baptism and confirmation and the great role of the Eucharist (Holy Mass and Communion). Apart from that Christian maturity is proven by the intensity of dialogue with God in prayer and accepting responsibility for the Church through any type of apostolic activity.

Regionalizm jako postulat dydaktyczno-wychowawczy w nauczaniu religii
Zellma, Anna (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2002)
The article undertakes the issue of regionalism that is a postulate of education, including the contemporary catechesis; it approaches the subject on both pedagogical and catechetic planes. Aiming at showing regionalism as a didactic-educational postulate in the teaching of religion, first development of the regionalist idea in history is pointed to. Next, the assumptions of regional education are presented, and its both didactic and educational aspects are shown. It is remarked that the value of regional education is not exhaused in one programme put into practice within the frames of one definite subject, but it is directed to educational work of all the teachers, including the catechists, who are supposed to put its assumptions into practice in the catechetic process. Aiming at showing regionalism as a didactic-educational postulate in the teaching of religion the place of regional education in the catechetic process is pointed to, taking into consideration substantial and methodical aspects, worked out in the light of “Podstawa programowa oraz program nauki religii dla szkół podstawowych, gimnazjów i szkół ponadpodstawowych” edited by the Commission for Catholic Education working with the Polish Episcopacy Conference (1999). The reader’s attention is also drawn to the need of making use of the region’s cultural heritage. The whole undertaken issue has been enriched with catechetic postulates that may be put into effect in the new schooling system.

Numerous beatifications and canonizations are undoubtedly a phenomenon in John Paul II’s pontificate. When elevating someone to the altar the Pope perceived in his sainthood what was most characteristic of him – with what he may put today’s Catholics to shame or to rouse their admiration. Moreover, in each of the saints the Pope saw a definite sign of the time appealing for a proper response. The very sainthood is a very clear sign of the time, when many people live as if God did not exist; the sainthood that reminds everybody of universal calling to sainthood. Polish saints in John Paul II’s preaching during his pilgrimages to his Homeland are also signs for our nation that say that all Poles are called to victory – to sainthood; that talk about being faithful to the Church and loyal to the earthly homeland, about being faithful to the end – both to the Church and to one’s own vocation; about the woman’s dignity and vocation. They also say that the one moral law that is in force for everybody is the foundation of moral order; that authority and obedience gives strength of the spirit, and that social involvement should be enlivened with the spirit of service and sensitivity to all wrongs. Moreover, saints as signs call for apostolic activity, for proper use of the gift of freedom, for defeating evil with good, for reconciliation of nations, for ecumenism; and they are signs of protest against the civilisation of death. All these signs of the time represented by the Polish saints are at the same time questions put to us that ask if we are properly making use of this great heritage and if we live with the “tradition of the apostles, mission of prophets and martyrs’ blood”.

The present article seeks to answer the question if the contemporary Church’s teaching about the listeners’ life experience is actually used as a source of homilies in Sunday preaching for adults in “Biblioteka Kaznodziejska” and “Współczesna Ambona”. The stated problem is solved by presenting first the Church’s directions concerning the subject, and then by analysing the question of their practical use in 405 homilies for adults in “Biblioteka Kaznodziejska” and in 219 homilies in “Współczesna Ambona”. The choice of source material was done at random, because of the considerable time range and the great number of homilies; however, the requirements of sociological research were met. Next, on the basis of the analysis of source materials an appraisal was made of reception of the contemporary Church’s teaching on the listeners life experience as a source of homilies; and finally homiletic postulates were formulated.

Teologia głoszenia Słowa Bożego według Dz 2
Dyk, Stanisław (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2002)
In the second chapter of the Acts Luke contained a profound theology of teaching God’s word. Preaching originates under the influence of the Holy Ghost who accompanies the process of preaching the word and ensures its efficiency. What gives salutary power to the preached God’s word is also its content, that is the person of Jesus Christ and His salutary mystery. Jesus Christ is present in the preaching, so that the preacher’s human word becomes God’ s word. However, the announced God’s word does not act automatically. It demands a proper reception from the listener. God’s word preached, heard and received leads to faith, reformation of the sinner and to building the community of the Church. Also a spiritual bond with Jesus and His blessing is a fruit of God’s word. The message contained in Acts 2 should find its reflection in the preachers’ theological consciousness as well as in the contents of the word preached by them.

Kwestia ekologiczna w dokumentach II Polskiego Synodu Plenarnego (1991-1999)
Fiałkowski, Marek (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2002)
The article discusses the ecological problems in the documents of II Polish Plenary Synod (1991-1999). Protection of the natural environment and the ecological crisis should be considered one of the most characteristic phenomena of the beginning of the 21st century. The scale of both this phenomenon and its consequences, that finally affect man, make one perceive the ecological issue as one of the greatest challenges facing humanity as well as the Church. The contemporary Church’s preaching treats the ecological issue as a sign of the time and perceives it first of all in moral terms. In the light of this the question seems justified, what sensitivity to the discussed problems is displayed by the teaching of II Polish Plenary Synod. The teaching may be reduced to showing two opposite attitudes: a pro-ecological one that is recommended to the faithful in Poland; and an anti-ecological, that is consumption attitude, that is negatively appraised by the Synod.

    Komplementarność duszpasterstwa i apostolstwa
Kamiński, Ryszard (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2002)
Apostolate is activity of all the members of God’s people directed to realisation of the Church’s aim, that is propagating Christ’s Kingdom on earth. Pastorate is the Church’s salutary action putting into effect Christ’s salutary work in the contemporary world by preaching God’s word, by sacramental and pastoral service and other pastoral activities. Pastorate and apostolate are not directly one thing or two absolutely different things. They are a bipolar unity, different in some respects. Pastorate and apostolate’s mutual relation is one of mutual influence. Both these realities are complementary to each other. In practice, cases are often encountered of disturbing the balance between pastorate and lay people’s apostolate. This results from passiveness existing in the Church and from lay people’s lack of preparation. The imperative of making use of all the creative forces in the Church in order to change this situation ensues from this situation, the aim being a balance between pastorate and apostolate as well as co-operation between the clergy and laity in the Church and in the world.

    Parafia ośrodkiem życia liturgicznego
Krakowiak, Czesław (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2002)
The traditional and usual place for celebrating the liturgy is the parish. This is why the Church defines it as “the centre of Christian families’ liturgical life” Also the parish church is a priviledged place of celebration, especially of the Sunday Eucharist and the other holy sacraments. On the basis of the Church’s current teaching and of the pertaining literature the author first shows in the article the close connection between the Church, the parish and the liturgy, and then discusses the celebration of liturgy of all the sacraments and Liturgy of the Hours in the parish and their significance for building the parish community and the consciousness of its members as part of the particular and universal Church.

    Etapy oceniania katechizowanych
Kulpaczyński, Stanisław (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2002)
The article is divided into six parts. In the introduction the notions of evaluating and appraising are differentiated. The next paragraphs discuss: psychological foundations of initial appraisal; pointing to the factors that facilitate getting to know people, and ones that make it more difficult; elements of initial appraisal based on observation of the pupils; meeting them; planning the programme and criteria for appraising them; current and diagnostic appraisal, with paying attention to the motivation; recognising the causes of difficulties; the place of control and appraisal; and the ways of giving marks. The final appraisal is connected to the question, if all that is taught should be appraised; possible mistakes in appraising are shown and some results are shown of studies on the way of appraising. The article is concluded with practical postulates concerning appraising.
