It indicates the foundations of the Oblate historiography, which include the most important archival collections both in Poland and abroad, as well as studies by the most important Polish Oblate historians. Both achievements of historians-professionals and historians-amateurs are discussed. Several thematic aspects of the Oblate historiography are pointed to: basic syntheses, hagiographic and biographic works, studies on the work of Polish Oblates abroad. Also the main directions of further studies and their significance for the Church historiography in Poland are briefly discussed.Pozycja Dzieła Stanisława Hozjusza. Wawrzyńca Wnuka z PolskąWalkusz, Jan (Towarzystwo Naukowe KUL, 2011)The present article is an attempt at illustrating the relations of the emigration priest with his home country in the span of over 60 years. Rev. Warzyniec Wnuk, a non-compromising priest and indeed a heroic organizer of Polish emigration circles, when he was freed from a concentration camp he first worked in Germany, and then in the USA and Canada. After establishing his legal ecclesiastic status, in order to revive the social life of the Polish emigrants, brought Ursuline Sisters of the Agonizing Heart of Jesus to Windsor (Ontario, Canada). Along with them he organized yearly trips to Poland, where he met several friendly bishops, supporting financially their investment projects; he also supported Polish cultural-academic institutions (including the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, the Mikołaj Kopernik University of Toruń and specialist clinics) and he established funds and stipends for Polish students and scholars; and after marshal law was imposed on Poland he established a special Fund for Aid to Poland. He also organized two official visits by Canadian bishops in Poland – Bishop Emmett Carter, the Chairman of the Episcopate of Canada in 1977, and Bishop John M. Sherlock, the Ordinary of the London Diocese in 1998. Rev. W. Wnuk spent most of his life in Canada, but still he was interested in Poland all the time; he felt Poland, thought and acted like a Pole and did it for Poland.Pozycja Z dziejów walki o dusze. Wstępna typologia modlitewnikówPrejs, Roland (Towarzystwo Naukowe KUL, 2011)The article attempts to create an initial typology of Polish prayer-books, popular especially in the 19th century, that had one common title The Golden Altar, or different variations of this title, like The Little Golden Altar, The Everyday Altar, The Polish Altar, The Roman-Catholic Altar. The research that has been conducted up till now, taking into consideration the place of publication and similarity of the contents, allows distinguishing the following groups of editions of this prayer-book: 1) the Winnicki group, 2) the missionary group, 3) the Vilnius group, 4 ) the Częstochowa group, 5) the Berdyczów group, 6) the Galician group, 7) the Poznań group, 8) the Silesian group, 9) the Witwicki group, 10) the Odyniec group, 11) other ones. The above typology is a preparation for examining the contents of particular prayerbooks, and then for an attempt at answering the question about how strongly they influenced the formation of religiousness in the 19th century.Pozycja Ideał celibatu kapłańskiego w nauce Ojców Kościoła i pisarzy wczesnochrześcijańskichNowicki, Andrzej (Towarzystwo Naukowe KUL, 2011)Pozycja Poszukiwanie pism kardynała Stanisława Hozjusza przez komisję historyczną w jego procesie beatyfikacyjnymSzorc, Alojzy (Towarzystwo Naukowe KUL, 2011)Pozycja Ks. The work of the Association was directed towards the intellectual-political elite; just like that of the Society for Lay Schools. The organization conducted broad activities on a lot of fronts of public life. The Association that changed its name to Society for the Propagation of Lay Culture in 1969 had the weekly (at first a biweekly) “Argumenty” (“Arguments”) as its press organ. The magazine was supposed to reach first of all intelligentsia, with a definite aim that was secularization, and then – atheization of the Polish society. It launched a frontal, well thought-out attack on the sphere of the religious life of the Polish citizens and on the work of the Catholic Church. It tried at all costs to ridicule and denigrate belief in God as something out of date, typical of backward and uneducated people. Also new ethics was promoted as well as a new model of family, in which there is room for divorce and abortion, if there are important reasons for this. Luckily, the weekly was not read so widely as it was expected, and after the fall of Communism in Poland in 1989 in a natural way it stopped being published, as unprofitable. However, the issue of secularization of the society has remained topical and was taken up by other magazines still present at the Polish media scene – like “Fakty i Mity” (“Facts and Myths”) or “Nie” (“No”). The struggle against the Church and religion is still carried on, even in a more perfidious and thought-out way.Pozycja Giuseppe De Marchi, Le nunziature apostoliche dal 1800 al 1956, Città del Vaticano: Libreria Editrice Vaticana 2006 [ristampa anastatica], ss. The information about the library is taken from the protocol of the general inspection carried out in 1748. Analysis of the list of books that is a part of the inspection protocol entitles us to define the Czyżów library as a typically pastoral one, with a predominance of books useful in preaching God’s Word. Starting with the source, that is the Bible, through the works by Gregory the Great, concordance and Golden Legend to homiletic books by such outstanding preachers as Maciej Faber, Piotr Skarga, Ambroży Nieszporkiewicz, or Szymon Starowolski, and ending with Marchant’s pastoral handbook, used not only in the confessional service, but also in other kinds of parish work. Hence, it was a small collection with only ten books, but a typically practical one, concentrating as if „in one pill” the contents that were to help priests of those times in the broadly understood cura animarum.Pozycja Wokół fundacji klarysek zawichojskich w 1257 roku (W 750 rocznicę fundacji szpitala przy klasztorze)Moskal, Tomasz (Towarzystwo Naukowe KUL, 2011)Pozycja Ks.
