Pozycja Spory w Kościele w Polsce wokół sposobów przyjmowania Komunii św. w dobie pandemii w perspektywie historyczno-teologicznejBartocha, Waldemar (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2021)The experience of the time of the pandemic in the Church in Poland has led to the intensification of disputes about the ways of receiving Holy Communion. Various circles, especially traditionalists, began to promote inappropriate theological arguments aimed not only at undermining the legitimacy of Communion in the hand, but also the possibility of a contagion of viruses through the Eucharist. The purpose of this article is to show the genesis of these contentions and the reaction of the Polish Episcopal Conference and individual bishops to the actions taken by certain groups of people or individuals spreading erroneous theological views, especially in the social media. After presenting the essence of the disputes in the first part of the study and after separating the areas to which the most frequent errors can be reduced, the following parts of the article will present both historical and theological arguments regarding the issue of distributing Holy Communion in the hand. A broad look at the issue, which at the present time seems to be a crucial problem, will make it possible to prove the truth of the thesis stated in the introduction to the article. It is a mistake to try to oppose the two forms of receiving Holy Communion – “on the tongue” or “in the hand” to each other. The emphasis in the mystagogical and catechetical activities of the Church should be placed on what belongs to the essence, that is, on the worthy reception of the Blessed Sacrament, and not on absolutizing the form of the rite itself. Disputes in the Church in Poland concerning the ways of receiving Holy Communion in the time of the pandemic have exposed weaknesses in the life of the Church and irregularities which have developed over the years, as well as serious deficiencies in the formation of both clergy, consecrated persons and lay faithful. Hence they demand a constructive response from the Church at the level of her pastoral activity.Pozycja Obrzędy dedykacji kościoła i życie sakramentalne. Sakramentalia w kontekście liturgii KościołaSielepin, Adelajda (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2021)The article displays a relationship between the sacramentals and liturgy by the example of the rite of dedication of the church and altar. Theology of these rites celebrated during the process of erecting a particular church conveys rich spiritual impact upon the community life, their spiritual growth and integration. Starting from the blessing of the area for the future building, along the installment of the cornerstone and finaly dedication of the church and altar, the rites evince deep analogy to the process of Christian initiation. Theology of this sacramental is useful and adequate particularly on commemorating the consecration of the church or of the church’s saint patron. It seems to be valuable in times of weakening faith and relativism when the Christian human dignity and the meaning of the sacred should be rediscovered and appreciated anew.Pozycja Anamnetyczny wymiar liturgii Triduum Paschalnego w tekstach Mszału rzymskiegoKwiatkowski, Dariusz (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2021)This article presents the anametic dimension of the liturgy of the paschal mystery of Christ, which takes place during the Holy Triduum. In order to achieve the main goal, the author was using the method of liturgical hermeneutics and the critical-practical method. The most important source of the study are the prayer formulas contained in the Roman Missal. Referring to the liturgical texts contained in the Roman Missal, this article presents the liturgical hic, nunc and hodie of the paschal mysteries. The liturgical anamnesis unites all the celebrations of the Paschal Triduum. In this case, we can speak of one celebration, which is spread over time. The Triduum Sacrum is a kind of triptych, that is to say, three different paintings. To see and understand the meaning of this triptych, each painting should be viewed together with the other two. The Liturgy of the Easter Triduum presents the Last Supper, where Christ instituted the sacraments of the priesthood and the Eucharist. Then the passion and death on the cross, resting in the tomb, and finally, the resurrection of Christ. This article shows that the Passover of Jesus, that is, His passage from death to life, is not only a pious recall of the facts of salvation history, but their actual sacramental presentation. Therefore, everyone can always immerse themselves in the mystery of Christ’s paschal mystery and enjoy its saving fruits.Pozycja Tempus gaudii – tempus tristitiae. Historyczny rozwój dwóch wymiarów AdwentuLitawa, Karol (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2021)The question pointed in the title of this paper has to provoke deepening of the issues related to the liturgical experience of Advent. The historical and theological analysis of the Advent liturgy and customs, widend by the anthropological understanding of this season in the category of joy (gaudium) and sorrow (tristitia), allows to answer a question: is the Advent more joyful or sorrowful? The formation of the liturgy of this season in the Latin Church, especially in the Gallican and Roman traditions, shows an extremely important cultureforming factor in the understanding of rites and theology of Advent. The filtration of these two traditions will ultimately lead to their merging into one, which in consequence will appear in the post-Vaticanum II era in liturgical celebrations and theology.Pozycja Permanentny charakter obecności Ducha Świętego w dziewictwie konsekrowanym w świetle księgi liturgicznej „Obrzędy konsekracji dziewic”Korda, Klaudia (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2021)The aim of the article is to show the permanent character of the presence of the Holy Spirit in consecrated virginity. The texts contained in the liturgical book Rites of Consecration of Virgins, which is part of the post-conciliar Roman Pontifical, outline the image of the Third Person of the Holy Trinity as: the voice of God addressed to man, the giver of charisms, the helper on the way of consecrated life and the one who leads to holiness. The pneumatological trait marked in the rites shows how the presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of Christian virgins is connected with the anointing with the oil of crucifixion in the sacraments of Christian initiation. It is in them that the gift of the Divine Spirit initiated in the act of consecration is deepened and prepares the woman for her new role: bride and co-operator of Christ in the world. This trait also points to the Blessed Virgin Mary as the perfect model of virginity and cooperation with the Holy Spirit. Taking up reflection on the action of the Paraclete in the life of virgins contributes to noticing the truth that the Holy Spirit is present not only in the sacraments, but that His closeness is also realized in the everyday human life. Faith in the causative power of the Divine Spirit, prayer for His action and the gifts asked for in the prayer of consecration are the first steps for the silent breeze of the Third Person of God to enter into the lex vivendi of the Christian virgin. As a result, she shines in her environment as one who has heard the call and fulfils the will of God with ardent love, by the power of the Spirit.Pozycja Kościół katedralny. Aspekty prawne i teologiczneAdamczyk, Jerzy (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2021)The aim of the article is to present legal and theological aspects o f the cathedral church. The first part depicts the concept and meaning of the cathedral church. The second elaborates on the problems o f furnishing and equipping of the cathedral church, and the third part is dedicated to the diocesan bishop’s relationship with his cathedral church. The article ends with a summary and references.Pozycja Cechy duchowości św. Jana Bosko w formularzach mszalnychBłaszczyk, Radosław (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2021)The author analyzed all euchological texts of the liturgical memorial of St. John Bosco, both from the Roman Missal for Polish Dioceses and the Messale Proprio della Famiglia Salesiana. This analysis turned out to be a valuable procedure aimed at showing the essential elements of the spirituality of St. John Bosco, founder of the Society of St. Francis de Sales. In addition, the article presents a wealth of mass texts that fulfill many functions, primarily formative and didactic ones, which, when used well, can enlarge the bunch of people elevated to the group of blessed and canonized people in the Catholic Church.Pozycja Olej w obrzędach inicjacji chrześcijańskiej w syro-orientalnej tradycji liturgicznejPotoczny, Mateusz Rafał (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2021)Oil belongs to the most important natural elements that have entered the Christian liturgy. Although it is used in various sacramental and extra-sacramental rites, the richest theological meaning it gained in the rites of Christian Initiation. This study reflects on the role and significance of oil in the baptismal liturgy in the Syro-Oriental tradition. The paper starts from the presentation of the nomenclature related to the anointing in Syrian traditions. Then one can learn about the symbolism of oil and anointing found in the works of the most prominent Syriac Fathers. The last part of research presents the anointings in the baptismal rite of the Syro-Oriental Churches.Pozycja Msza h-moll BWV 232 Jana Sebastiana Bacha w świetle estetyki teologicznej Hansa Ursa von BalthasaraKrawiec, Andrzej (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2021)In the first part of his magnum opus Hans Urs von Balthasar presents his project of theological aesthetics where the experience of art becomes an entrance to a religious act and an ennobling way leading to the contemplation of God. Defining the essence of being human as a spiritual being directed towards God bears a deep ethical meaning in this consideration. H.U. von Balthasar’s reflection over the religious dimension of the essence of art is shaped within theology but at the same time in the opposition to aesthetic theology which is described as ‘aesthetisation’ of the Mystery of Revelation. The art of music occupies a particular place in this reflection. For this reason Mass in B Minor BWV 232 by Johann Sebastian Bach, which is an emblematic example of the revelation of the glory of the Lord (Herrlichkeit), will be analysed not only from the perspective of philosophical or musicological aesthetics, but also theological aesthetics. This article outlines characteristic features of theological aesthetics specifically developed from traditional philosophical aesthetics whose range was extended by the human being’s relation to God.Pozycja Dwie wersje „Pieśni historycznej…”: kult ikony Matki Boskiej Ladeńskiej na tle kultu ikony Matki Boskiej ŻyrowickiejBarysenka, Volha (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2021)The article is devoted to the icon of Our Lady of Lady from the Basilian monastery in Malyia Lady located not far from Minsk (Belarus). The cult of the icon was local and existed from the first half of the 18th century till the first half of the 20th century. The icon was a copy of the icon of Our Lady of Žyrovicy and its cult was closely related to that of the icon of Our Lady of Žyrovicy that strengthened after the coronation in 1730 and occasional discovery of its copy in the Santi Sergio e Bacco church in Rome during the renovation in 1718. These both motives were reflected in the history of icon from Lady. The earliest legendary reference on the origin of the icon cult are contained in two poems dating back to 1744 which have preserved in a hand-written set of religious texts and attached to the article.Pozycja Krytyka katolickiej muzyki liturgicznej w polemikach i sprawozdaniach z II połowy XVIII wiekuUrban, Mariusz (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2021)The process of secularization of music written for the needs of the Catholic Church intensified throughout the eighteenth century, reaching its culmination at the end of it. Particularly susceptible to the influence of secular music was the concertato trend, in which composers very often emphasized elements of the Neapolitan and Venetian styles. Adopting the patterns, which were unfamiliar for sacred spaces, led in consequence to the loosening of the relationship between music and both the significance and the time course of the liturgical action. The escalating crisis of Catholic music provoked a reaction from both the Magisterium of the Church and the secular rulers who were guided by Enlightenment ideas. However, the managed reforms did not contribute to the improvement of the situation; numerous statements by outsiders: publicists, press editors, music theorists and composers are proof of it. They expressed their observations in various types of documents: polemical publications, satires, reports and journals from travels around the countries of Europe at that time. Reading these sources provides valuable information on the real state of Catholic liturgical music at the end of the eighteenth century.Pozycja The Idea of an ‘Icon in Sound’ in the Works of John TavenerMiklaszewska, Joanna (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2021)The aim of this article is to present an innovative concept of the ‘icon in sound’ created by the English composer John Tavener. The first part of the article presents the intermedial and intertextual features of Tavener’s work, the second shows the genesis of the concept of ‘icon in sound’, to which three factors have contributed: 1) the composer’s interest in religious topics in his pieces, 2) the composer’s conversion to Orthodoxy, 3) collaboration with Mother Tekla, the author of the texts of many Tavener’s works. The last, third part of the article describes issues related to the formal structure and musical symbolism present in Tavener’s musical icons. The composer refers to painted icons by composing works characterised by static form and the expression of spirituality, mysticism and inner peace. These features result from the juxtaposing of melismatic structures, inspired by Byzantine music, with repetitive technique and dynamics often characterised by a low intensity. One characteristic of Tavener’s sound icons is a ‘luminous’ sound, achieved through the use of high registers of voices and instruments, which are combined with contemplative and lyrical expression. An important feature of John Tavener’s musical icons was the introduction of archaic elements, resulting primarily from the inspiration that the composer drew from the musical culture of the Orthodox Church (eg the use of Byzantine scales in Mary of Egypt, the introduction of instruments such as simantron in Mary of Egypt).Pozycja Zespół obrazów w dawnym dominikańskim sanktuarium św. Zofii w ZofiborzeRolska, Irena (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2021)In 1710 Jan Domaszewski, in his village Domaszewice, founded a wooden church. In the years 1721–1722, Franciszek and Zofia Nowosielski erected and endowed a wooden monastery for the Dominicans. Since then, the partof the village belonging to the Dominicans, has been called Zofibór.
