Creativity of Religion Teachers as a Determinant of Students’ Creativity
Zellma, Anna (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)
The analyses undertaken in this paper aim to show the importance of the creativity of religion teachers for the development of their students’ creativity in the course of religion lessons. The starting point is the thesis according to which the creativity of religion teachers is a determinant of students’ creativity. Such an approach required the use of the analytic-synthetic method. The analysis included the available literature on the subject. Based on this, the identity of creative religion teachers was first characterized in a synthetic manner. Their personal characteristics and the substantive and methodological competence were identified. In this context, specific activities of religion teachers were analysed, which testify to their creativity and at the same time motivate students to engage in a multifaceted, creative activity. Particular emphasis was placed on the use of various forms of organization of students’ work during religion lessons, methods, techniques and didactic aids. The questions posed not only by the teachers but also by the students were considered important. It was also observed that a creative religion teacher not only strives for external activation of students, but also supports them in discovering the values of the Gospel, their conversion and trusting in Christ. In their teaching and educational work, religion teachers need appropriate support, since they should continuously develop and learn, as well as improve their methodological skills.

Nawrócenie jako warunek pojednania z Bogiem
Zając, Marian (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)
This article stems from the narrative contained in the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Reconcilatio et paenitentia of Saint John Paul II, who strongly warned Christians against losing their sense of sin. The work consists of three parts. The first one presents the main causes of the loss of the sense of sin in the modern world, and a catechetical strategy that calls for making a distinction between sinners and their sins and misconduct in order to attain true reconciliation. In the second part, an attempt will be made to justify the need to combat moral misconduct, which may result either from mere negligence or spiritual indifference. The author explains that sin is an obvious disturbance of the objective order of God, caused by a free and conscious act of man, that exists in the world. Also, it will be highlighted that there still exists a process of temptation to sin by the significant forces of evil; this process weakens the ability to be converted. Moreover, the five-stage process of sinfulness is described. The third part will explain why man’s personal conversion is a necessary element of forgiveness. Although only God can truly forgive guilt and wrongdoing by giving man His grace, still forgiveness is necessary as a prerequisite for the proper development and maturation of the human person. The article ends with a reflection that without conversion and the ability to forgive there is no true human community, much less a Christian community.

    Pastoralne towarzyszenie kapłanom doświadczającym kryzysów
Landwójtowicz, Paweł (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)
Priests are susceptible to crises, too. The realization of pastoral vocation has never been faultless. Priests often manifest behaviors that expose their human imperfections, and this may lead to different crises. In this context, the crucial pastoral task is to properly accompany these priests. The article indicates that the Sacrament of Reconciliation is of great importance among different ways of providing pastoral support. Priests who benefit from it through repentance and forgiveness find a greater unity with themselves, other people and God. In order for pastoral crisis to bear good fruit and bring greater personal maturity, brotherhood and ecclesial support are also needed. This study outlines the reasons of pastoral crises, gives a better theological understanding of a crisis situation in relation to priesthood, as well as suggesting ways of pastoral accompanying priests going through crises.

ICT in der theologisch-religiösen Ausbildung polnischer Religionslehrer innen
Kostorz, Jerzy (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)
With the development of new information and communication technologies in Poland and the digitization of Polish schools, an attempt was made to present ICT as used in the contemporary formation of Polish catechists. Reference was made to the catechetical documents of the universal Church and in Poland, normative acts and literature of the subject. Attention was paid to both initial and permanent formation. For this purpose, a short presentation was made of the current state of the formation of catechists in Poland regarding ICT. Next, the status and functions of ICT in the formation of Polish catechists were analyzed and the ways of its implementation. This showed that ICT has a special place in the contemporary formation of Polish catechists. ICT is indispensable for catechists because only in this way can they enhance their IT skills. At the same time a number of e-learning options were presented, as well as the possibilities that ICT opens for catechists working in schools regarding lesson organization and methodology. Also, the article shows the importance of the ability to use remote learning platforms (e.g., Storybird, Padlet, Story Dice) and create and use various applications (such as LearningApps.org., Kahoot!).

Rozwój dyrektoriów katechetycznych po Soborze Watykańskim II (1971-1997-2020)
Kiciński, Andrzej (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)
On 23 March 2020, Pope Francis approved a new Directory for Catechesis, which was prepared by the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization. The first Directorium Catechisticum Generale of 1971 responded to the great ecclesial event of the Second Vatican Council and its general reform and renewal. The subsequent catechetical documents also responded to the signs of the times in a rapidly changing world, continuing the main message. The Second General Directory for Catechesis of 1997 drew on synods, which emphasised the importance of catechesis, and especially the John Paul II’s Exhortation Catechesi tradendae (1979) and the publication of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (1992) had a decisive role in the new development of the objectives, contents and methodological issues. The third Directory for Catechesis of 2020 is a dynamic elaboration on the two previous texts maintaining continuity with them. It is also a reading of contemporary signs of the times. The Directory is a normative ecclesial document that contains fundamental theological-pastoral principles drawn mainly from the documents of the Second Vatican Council, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and other documents of the Church’s Magisterium in the area of catechesis, as well as general guidelines for episcopates to develop national catechetical directories which, while taking into account specific conditions, will guide the path of catechetical ministry in particular Churches. Their development after the Second Vatican Council marks the transition to the next stage of the proclamation of the Gospel in the modern world.

Theological and Canonical Aspects of Baptismal Mystagogy to Persons Below 14 Years of Age
Jaszcz, Adam (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)
The aim of this article is to present the theological grounds for administering baptism to children and minors under 14 years of age and the canonical status of it, as well as the pastoral and administrative implications arising therefrom. The consequence of baptism is the sanctifying and justifying incorporation into the People of God’s New Covenant. It cannot be revoked, and its sacramental character is irremovable. Man, reborn with baptismal water, is freed from Adam’s guilt and endowed with the power to overcome evil. The author refers to the thesis that the baptism of children violated their religious freedom. The article states that there is no such thing as “pure human freedom,” independent of any influence. Parents care for the wellbeing of their children and things necessary for life. This also applies to religious life. Not caring about this aspect would in fact be a wish of evil by depriving a person of a good. The author describes the consequences arising from the sacrament of baptism, through which a legal node is created in a particular Church sui iuris.

La aportación de la perspectiva cristiana en el actual momento educativo
Iglesias, Ramiro Pellitero (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)
The mission of education, with its requirements for personalization and consistency, is today part of cultural context, characterized primarily by technological globalization and digital culture. On top of all this, there is the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which is undoubtedly becoming a challenge. It cannot be overcome without noticing the importance of education in its broadest sense. The article shows some of the current educational challenges and the possible contribution of Christianity to meeting these challenges. From this perspective, it is necessary to recognize the nature and style of Catholic educational institutions, taking into account – on the basis of the foundations of anthropology and ethics – the reality, both internal in the personalistic sense and the socio-cultural environment in which people live. The concluding section presents some basic proposals for educating to live the faith in our cultural context, which relate to teaching, communicating and announcing the faith.

    Personalistic Concept of Moral Formation
Goliszek, Piotr (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)
Personalistic moral formation is universal because it refers to the truth about man as a person. It leads first to Christian values, but in principle it refers to something fundamental, i.e., to the inner capacities specific to every human being, believer or not. This is why the concept of the person occupies a very important place in the foundations of personalistic moral formation. The individual decisions of the moral formation process depend on it. Moral formation, then, appears to be the most prosopoic way of transmitting values, i.e., shaping a person of high quality. A special role is played here by a person who, as it has already been stressed, is a cognitive model, a method of constructing knowledge, and above all a place and a way of connecting the human person with the Person of Christ. Personalism correlates with the whole nature of morality. It is a method that brings the truths of faith and morality closer to the existence of a particular person; it makes them close to his mind and heart and respond to the deepest needs of a person’s life. Furthermore, the personalistic moral formation is not limited to the ways of transmitting faith and morality but will seek ways of self-comprehension, self-interpretation and self-upbringing of the students and ways of understanding the contemporary world, history, life, community, culture in light of the Person of Christ.

Mystagogic Dimension of Christian Formation in the Family Community
Buchta, Roman (Wydawnictwo Towarzystwa Naukowego Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, 2020)
The 2020 global coronavirus pandemic led to severe restrictions imposed on all areas of social life. These restrictions also limited the ability of the faithful to participate in daily liturgy and everyday Church life. Consequently, many faithful participated in the liturgical celebrations of Easter and consecutive paschal Sundays within their family communities. Pursuant to bishops’ guidelines, direct preparation for the First Communion and the sacrament of penance and reconciliation took place within the family community. Families faced the challenge of taking on tasks that are normally reserved for the catechumenate. We can then pose the question of whether contemporary Christian families view themselves as a community of the “domestic Church.” Are they aware of their mission and prepared to fulfil it? The purpose of this article is to highlight the mystagogic dimension of Christian formation in the family community. The author offers a reflection on the family as the focus of realisation of the mystery of the Church. He analyses the goals and tasks of the family catechumenate, as exercised due to participation of the family in the life and mission of the Church.
