Opis
During Vatican Council II the subject of the presbytery, the union of a bishop and presbyters was discussed in order to restore the form of the presbytery in Jerusalem to some extent. In the present article, the teaching of Vatican Council II about the community – like character of the diocesan presbytery is presented with regard to the genesis of the documents of the Council about the presbytery; the theological principles of the union between a diocesan ordinary and the presbyters, the duties of a bishop to presbyters, and the duties of presbyters towards a bishop. Attention is called to the liturgical signs of the presbytery and the community like character of life and ministrations of presbyters. From the teaching of Vatican Council II about the presbytery has arisen the necessity of modernization and activation of reciprocal ties between the bishop and presbyters which have the deep theological, as well as sociological and juridical, principees. The members of the presbytery participate in the same Ministry of Christ in the beneficial mission, tutorial and pastoral. It is exactly the principle of filiation of presbyters to a father – bishop from whom they received their ministry and mission and to whom they are related by the same power, faith, love of God and people, and the principle of sacramental brotherhood uniting the presbyters. The contemporary diocesan presbytery should possess the features of a real community for the sake of productive ministrations in the Church and above all for the sake of manifold profits for all members of the presbytery.
