Godność człowieka w nauczaniu bł. kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego
Tomczyk, Marek (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 2024)
We live in a time where considerable status is attributed to technological and IT advances, to rich and resourceful people who have a special social position, and poor people are ignored. Hence it is necessary to keep reminding people of the dignity of the human person and its primacy in the modern world. A special help in this discovery of human dignity is the teaching of the Catholic Church and the teaching of Blessed Cardinal Wyszynski.

    Podwójna tajemnica Kościoła Trójjedynego Boga
Napiórkowski, Andrzej (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 2024)
The presented text is an attempt to deepen theological reflection on the mystery of the Church. The whole reflection consists essentially of five parts with the following titles: Introduction; Restoring the concept of mystery; The mystery of the Trinity; The impenetrability of man; The double mystery of the Church of the Triune God. The mystery of the Church is twofold in that it relates to transcendence, or the reality of God, and it relates to man, pointing to the truth of his redemption and salvation. This consideration presupposes the assumption of a Trinitarian ecclesiogenesis and, consequently, a Trinitarian structure of the Church. The point is that this approach can significantly contribute to the restoration of Trinitarian relationships in the community of believers. It can serve to reveal the Trinitarian mystery in liturgy, in diakonia and preaching, as well as in the daily lives of Christians.

Duchowa adopcja a paradygmat „dwóch miłości” św. Augustyna z Hippony
Mazur, Jan (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 2024)
The initiative called «spiritual adoption of a child conceived at risk of extinction» is a prayerful work. It takes the form of a socio-religious movement. Its goal is to care for the lives of unborn children at risk of abortion. Spiritual adoption involves the person undertaking it committing to daily prayer for nine months for the safety of the conceived child, whose identity is known only to God. Such prayerful accompaniment of a child throughout the entire period of its stay under its mother’s heart can be identified as a form of its adoption. A person praying for the safety of a child at risk of abortion takes on the role of spiritual parenthood. The idea of spiritual adoption is implemented in pro-life circles to overcome the propaganda of pro-choice supporters. Since purely human, rational means are insufficient, it was decided to use supernatural means above all. In the context of Catholic social teaching, spiritual adoption can be seen as an ethical effort to build civitas Dei. This is a reference to the thought of St. Augustine of Hippo. In this context, his teaching can be considered a content and cognitive paradigm that explains the general meaning of spiritual adoption. It is a fight for human life that is only in the prenatal phase. This struggle, however, takes on a more general dimension; it is an expression of the struggle between the «culture of life» (directed towards the ideal of civitas Dei) and the «culture of death» (leading to civitas diaboli).

Wokół symboliki krzyża: od starożytności po współczesność
Filipiuk, Łukasz (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 2024)
The cross, one of the most recognisable symbols in the world, has a profound meaning in both religious and cultural contexts. Its interpretation and symbolism have evolved over the centuries, depending on the historical, social or religious context. This article aims to explore the development of the representation of the symbolism of the cross from antiquity to the present day, the presentation of which takes on ambivalent meanings ‒ from the negative portrayal of the cross as a place of torture and inflicted death to the positive overtones when the cross of Christ becomes a sign of hope and faith in the victory of a nation oppressed by slavery. The most important issue, however, remains the fact that the cross is a sign with which millions of people around the world identify, and therefore it should be required to take the right attitude towards this symbol regardless of one’s worldview.

Religia chrześcijańska i polityka cesarska pod rządami Konstantyna Wielkiego i Konstancjusza II
Degórski, Bazyli (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 2024)
The article presents the theological disputes that arose after the dogmatic determinations made at the First Universal Council of Nicaea in Asia Minor in 325. It discusses the period from the conclusion of that council until the death of Emperor Constantius II in 361. The first part shows the religious policy of Emperor Constantine the Great, supporting the dogmatic provisions of the Council of Nicaea. The next part depicts the theological disputes under Emperor Constantius II, which were sealed by the double synod he convened in Rimini and Seleucia in 359. Imperial policy, which dominated all theological discussions during our study period, led to the imposition of the Arian heresy on virtually the entire empire.

    Uwagi teologa na temat sakramentaliów
Ćmiel, Henryk (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 2024)
The concept of ‘sacramentals’ dates back to the clarification of the concept of sacrament in the 12th century. The Second Vatican Council in the liturgical Constitution Sacrosanctum Concilium (numbers 60 and 61) explained what is meant by sacramentals. Sacramentals have their origin in Judaism. All blessings concerned a rich and long life, which for the believer was nothing other than participation in the life of God. The Old Testament knows plenty of stylised blessings. Even in the New Testament, the deepest desire for blessing for participation in the life of God has remained. From this biblical foundation, a number of consecrations and blessings developed in Christianity. The new Catholic Canon Law of 1983 sees the difference between sacraments and sacramentals in the fact that sacramentals do not operate by virtue of the salvific work of Jesus Christ actualized (ex opere operato), but by virtue of the intercession of the Church (ex opere operantis Ecclesiae) (Codex Iuris Canonici 1983, can. 1166). In tradition, sacramentals are distinguished into consecrations and blessings. Consecration meant that people, things or places are removed from their profane destination and are symbolically oriented only to God. Blessing meant the prayer of the Church for a salvific intervention of God on the one who is blessed. Sacramentals are liturgical actions with the fundamental structure of the epiclesis (or anamnesis and epiclesis). If things or places are involved in this dialogic event between God and men, then concern for the things of creation is expressed, but also the faith that all the good things of creation together with men glorify God present among them.

Warunki dobrej spowiedzi w świetle „Dzienniczka” świętej Faustyny Kowalskiej
Brzóska, Janusz (Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne Zakonu Świętego Pawła Pierwszego Pustelnika, 2024)
According to the doctrine of the Catholic Church, accepting the sacrament of penance and reconciliation presupposes the fulfillment of acts that are called the conditions of a good confession. They are: examination of conscience, regret for sins, a strong resolution to improve, sincere confession and satisfaction to God and neighbor. The presented considerations are an analysis of the Diary of St. Faustyna Kowalska in relation to the issue of good confession. This text is a detailed description of the conditions of such confession. According to the mystic in question, they play the role of an instrument of God’s mercy. They show the beauty of this sacrament, which is necessary in the spiritual battle that a Christian must fight for the kingdom of God. Diary of St. Faustina, constituting a kind of Gospel of Divine Mercy, combines the mystery of the sacrament of penance and reconciliation with the mystery of God’s mercy. Referring to this greatest attribute of God, analyzed in the context of Sister Faustina’s mysticism, it is impossible to exhaust the topic. He is still open to new inspirations, which by their nature every authentic spirituality of mercy gives rise to.
