Abstrakt
The nature of the poem and the symbolism of the Song of Songs, and most of all the theme of a woman lie within the author’s interests. The symbolism impacts the understanding of a woman and her role as a Bride. It is noteworthy that the Song of Songs as a literary work for hundreds of years was discussed by many schools of spirituality, mystics, exegetes. This analysis of a biblical text, and the comparative characterisation within, aims to refresh the understanding of a woman, her functioning in the biblical world, at first in the Jewish era, then in the Christian times, and finally in the contemporary times. The descriptions of the Bride shall help to understand a women as God wanted to, and therefore to understand her identity.
