W poszukiwaniu miejsca dla koncertów muzyki popularnej w świątyni katolickiej

Abstract

Artykuł podejmuje tematykę organizowania koncertów w kościołach. Reflektuje jednakże nad specyficzną twórczością muzyczną – popularną muzyką chrześcijańską i piosenką religijną. Zasadniczym punktem artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie: Jakie warunki winna spełniać piosenka religijna, aby można było ją wykonywać podczas koncertów w kościołach? Odpowiedź i wszelkie uwarunkowania zostały przedłożone w treści podzielonej na następujące części: 1. repertuar; 2. „intencje” wykonawców; 3. akustyka przestrzeni kościelnej; 4. stylistyka muzyczna; 5. ekspresja wykonawców – ekspresja odbiorców.

The article focuses on the issue of organizing concerts in churches. More precisely, it concerns a specific musical creativity, that is, popular Christian music and a religious song. The starting point of this paper has its source in the letter written by the bishop of Cracow, Card. S. Dziwisz, published on the day commemorating St. Cecilia, the patroness of Church music. Among other issues, Card. Dziwisz points to the church environment as the one designed exclusively for sacred music. Speaking about sacred music leads to a distinction in music between the categories of sacrum and profanum, to which the author refers. However, the fundamental point of this article is an attempt to answer the following question: what are the conditions that a religious song should comply with in order to be appropriate to be performed during concerts in churches. The answer as well as all of the conditions are presented in the following parts of the article: 1. repertoire; 2. performers’ “intentions”; 3. acoustics of the church space; 4. music stylistics; 5. the expression of performers vs. the expression of receivers.
