Abstract

Article represents teaching of Saint Caesarius, bishop of Arles in first half sixth of age on the subject sacraments of Church in context actual Christian religiosity. This religiosity characterised often, too after baptism, connecting certain rites past pagan religion with faith and Christian worship. Particularly in the cause of population rural near-term were rites of past pagan religion, through which they desire to realise contact with world unearthly and divine mystery. Therefore Bishop Caesarius explains symbolising of sacraments of Church and instructs on the subject of theirs sense in the cause of faith of man. Thus Bishop tries confirm Christian belief in religious living of people his diocese. Article moot successively learning of Caesarius to the point baptism, confirmation, penance and unction of ill.
