Abstract
The article presents theoretical consideration and results of an empirical research on motivation of religious conversion. The Conversion Questionnaire has been taken among 500 people, aged 18-65. Data reveals that most important motives of religious conversion are as follows: special influence of grace of God (50%), quest for meaning of life (18%), disappointment in life (7%), collapse of love or friendship (5%). The sex and age make not statistically differences. For 10% respondents is impossible to describe the main reason of their conversion. The most popular is gradual conversion. Men are more open for sudden conversion.
