Rany – otwarcie. Wprowadzenie do monografii twórczości Gregory’ego Whiteheada

Abstract

The article focuses on the work of the American radio artist Gregory Whitehead, with particular emphasis on the early stage of his work. The selected research method is structuralsemiotic analysis and, as an auxiliary method, mediumspecific analysis. The aim of the article is to present and analyze selected works of Gregory Whitehead (with particular emphasis on the early stage of the artist’s work) and indicate their idiosyncratic features. The key concepts are interference and entropy, treated as structural elements of the broadcast, and the presence of mise en abyme.

Artykuł skupia się wokół twórczości amerykańskiego artysty radiowego Gregory’ego Whiteheada, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem wczesnego etapu jego twórczości. Wybraną metodą badawczą jest analiza strukturalno-semiotyczna oraz, jako metoda pomocnicza, analiza specyficzna dla medium. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie i analiza wybranych dzieł artysty oraz wskazanie ich idiosynkratycznych cech. Kluczowymi pojęciami wykorzystywanymi w analizie są interferencja i entropia traktowane jako elementy strukturalne audycji oraz zabiegi mise en abyme.
