Abstrakt

The Faculty of Theology of KUL consists of nine institutes and departments (Institute for Biblical Studies, Department of Fundamental Theology, Department of Dogmatic Theology, Department of Moral Theology, Institute of Pastoral Theology, Ecumenical Institute, Institute of Church History, and Institute of Musicology). After Vatican Council II the Theology Faculty started its consistent work on the bases of Christian personalism. Initially, such concepts'"were taken in personal categories as revelation, faith, miracle, and then the Holy Sacraments. Gradually, personalistic thinking was taking ground and penetrated all the other institutes and departments. In its centre we find God in the Person of Jesus and the human person (a model of personal being is the Person of the Triune God). Such personalistic thinking took form in opposition to the non-personalistic trends (Marxism, Materialism, and Evolutionism) under the influence of western authors and Polish personalistic traditions. At the moment attempts are being made to work out a systematic personalism in which the whole reality is shone through and perceived through the prism of the Person, and understood within the personalistic horizon.
