Abstrakt
In contemporary debates dealing with rational component of Christian theism, Alvin Plantinga with his analytical approach reveals simplifications contained in arguments developed by prominent critics of theism. In these debates the important role is played by the question: Can the existence of moral evil and human suffering be reconciled in one consistent system with the thesis of the existence of omnipotent and benevolent God? The authors who answer this question negatively claim that deep inconsistencies are contained in traditional theism and one cannot regard the theistic interpretation as rational. Reconstructing Plantinga’s argument of the so called transworld depravity, the argument presented in God, Freedom and Evil, I point out groundlessness of traditional attempts at calling in question the rationality of classical theism.
