Pneumatologiczny charakter sakramentu bierzmowania

Abstract

The pneumatology of the Sacrament of Confirmation is the basis of the theological understanding of this sacrament. By the anointing of the chrism on the forehead made by the minister with the proper formula: „Be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit”, the person is able to bear witness to the Good News of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit makes the faithful not only mature but rather gifted and strengthened to the missionary work of the Church in the local dimension as well as the whole community of the Mystical Body of Christ.

Pneumatologia bierzmowania jest podstawą teologicznego rozumienia tego sakramentu. Poprzez namaszczenie olejem krzyżma na czole, którego dokonuje szafarz, używając formuły: „Przyjmij znamię Daru Ducha Świętego”, bierzmowany zostaje uzdolniony do dawania świadectwa Ewangelii Chrystusa. Duch Święty sprawia, że wierny staje się nie tyle dojrzały, co raczej uzdolniony, umocniony do misyjnego dzieła Kościoła zarówno w wymiarze lokalnym, jak i całej wspólnoty Mistycznego Ciała Chrystusa.
