Abstract

The Cistercian liturgy is Christocentric, but the Cult of Holy Mary is very popular in the Order. Cistercians worshiped St. Bernard, St. Benedict and other Saints, who were members of the Cistercian Order and the Order of Saint Benedict. Saint Joseph was widely worshiped throughout ages, including modem times. The dynamic Saint Joseph’s Brotherhood in Krzeszów and Jemielnica, and high importance of the celebrations of Betrothal of the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph (23 January), the Feast of St. Joseph (19 March) and solemnity of the Patronage of Saint Joseph (second or third Sunday after Easter) are the evidence of the cult of Saint Joseph in Silesia.
