Das Herz der Kirche: Joseph Ratzingers Verständnis des Wesens der Liturgie

Abstract

In this essay, the Catholic liturgy will be discussed, focussing especially on the eucharistic liturgy as it might be understood in the context of Joseph Ratzinger’s approach. The sacramental reality constituting the substantial aspect of the Eucharist is a central part of Christian faith. Considering this, precisely this sacramental reality can only be comprehended as the celebration of the Eucharist, and the related effects are only conceivable in the Eucharist by the actual sacrifice of the cross of Christ. In the Eucharist, the entire life of every single person who is baptized as a part of the mystical body of Christ is brought to the Father by Christ himself within the Holy Spirit. Finally, we obtain the precondition for a fruitful work of a believer and the connected effects of his efforts to sanctify the mystical body of Christ, as every prayer is transferred only by the Father in the Eucharist in the Holy Spirit.

Artykuł podejmuje zagadnienie liturgii, zwłaszcza Eucharystii rozumianej jako jej serce, w ujęciu teologii Josepha Ratzingera. Odnosząc się do nauczania ostatniego Soboru, Autor wskazuje na centralne miejsce Eucharystii w życiu całego Kościoła, który się ofiaruje jako część Mistycznego Ciała Chrystusa Ojcu przez Chrystusa w Duchu. W ten sposób dzieło wiernych, owoc ich życia, zostaje uświęcone. Autor ujmuje istotę liturgii trynitarnie, gdzie historia ludzkości zostaje wprowadzona w relacje między Ojcem i Synem w Duchu Świętym. Eucharystia uobecnia historyczne wydarzenia z życia Jezusa Chrystusa, które znajdują swój punkt centralny w celebracji Ostatniej Wieczerzy, która posiada walor nie tylko historyczny i wyjątkowy, ale wyraża przede wszystkim wieczne oddanie Syna Ojcu w Duchu Świętym, jest tajemnicą wiecznej miłości Boga i wszystkich ochrzczonych. Autor ukazuje wymiar egzystencjalny Eucharystii, polegający na tym, iż życie chrześcijańskie jest głęboko eucharystyczne, jako prawdziwa pasja polegająca na związku miłości.
