Abstract

Z pięciu obowiązków muzułmanina (pięciu filarów islamu) pierwszym jest wyznanie wiary w jedynego Boga – Allacha i w jego proroka – Mahometa. Treści wiary muzułmańskiej dotyczą jeszcze Aniołów, Ksiąg Najwyższego, Jego Wysłanników, Dnia ostatecznego i Przeznaczenia, czyli Bożego planu. Według wiary muzułmańskiej Bóg w różnych epokach zsyłał ludziom, poprzez swoich Proroków, Torę, Psalmy i Ewangelię, w końcu objawił im Koran. Został on objawiony w szczególnie jasnym języku arabskim „z taką czystością języka i elokwencją, która przerasta ludzkie zdolności”. Mahomet jest ostatnim z proroków, tym, który zamyka i doskonali wszystkie poprzednie doświadczenia profetyczne. Jest on – jak głosi wiara islamu – dobrym wzorem do naśladowania i „pieczęcią proroków” W łonie islamu spotykamy się często z rozbieżnymi wyjaśnieniami dotyczącymi angelologii i eschatologii.Of the five duties of a Muslim (the five pillars of Islam) the first one is the confession of faith in one God – Allah and his prophet – Muhammad.
