Kwestia wychowania w świetle adhortacji „Africae munus” Benedykta XVI na przykładzie Kamerunu

Abstract

The Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Africae munus was promulgated by Pope Benedict XVI as a result of the Second Special Assembly for Africa of the Synod of Bishops, held from 4 to 25 October 2009. The author of the Exhortation emphasises that the evangelisation of Africa is a precious treasure entrusted to Bishops, priests, permanent deacons, consecrated persons, catechists and the lay faithful. The present text contains an analysis of the question of education in the light of the assumptions made in the Exhortation. This analysis focuses more on the situation of education in Cameroon. Education provides individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary for effective participation in social life. It promotes social mobility and reduces inequalities. The Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Africae Munus identifies education as a field of evangelisation. The document recalls that Jesus Christ has entrusted the Church with a specific mission, and that the implementation of this mission requires a systemic approach that includes recourse to pastoral programmes and initiatives that promote reconciliation, justice and peace in Africa. Such actions must take into account the broadly understood field of education. This theme is reflected in six points. Their titles are as follows 1. Introduction; 2. The religious aspect of education; 3. The educational mission of the family; 4. The Church and education; 5. Looking to the future; 6. Conclusion. The context of each point is the exhortation Africae munus, subtitled: “On the Church in Africa at the service of reconciliation, justice and peace”.
