Jezus – przebóstwiający chleb życia

Abstract

Celem niniejszego artykułu było ukazanie Jezusa jako przebóstwiającego Chleba życia. Autor, wychodząc od Chrystusa jako głównego i jedynego Gospodarza Eucharystii, starał się ukazać proces przebóstwienia, któremu podlega każdy człowiek. Chciał zaakcentować przy tym szczególne działanie Ducha Świętego a także cielesną obecność Chrystusa w Eucharystii. Sprawą wielkiej wagi było ukazanie fizycznego zjednoczenia Boga z człowiekiem, jakie powoduje spożywanie Jego Ciała i Krwi. Eucharystia to nie „pokarm i napój duchowy” sam w sobie, ale przede wszystkim spożywanie tego pokarmu i picie tego napoju. Słów ustanowienia nie można rozpatrywać w oderwaniu od zasadniczej intencji Chrystusa. Na pierwszym miejscu pojawia się wezwanie: „bierzcie i jedzcie”, „bierzcie i pijcie”, a następnie dopiero wyjaśnienie: „To jest Ciało moje”, „to jest Krew moja” Właściwe znaczenie tych ostatnich słów ukazuje ich kontekst. Wezwanie do rzeczywistego uczestnictwa jest istotnym i głównym elementem ustanowienia Eucharystii. Autor starał się wykazać jak każdy człowiek, stworzony na obraz i podobieństwo Boże, przez Eucharystię staje się z łaski tym, kim Bóg jest w Swojej naturze, ulega przebóstwieniu, Boskiej przemianie.

The purpose of this article was to show Jesus as the deifying Bread of Life. The author, starting from Christ as the main and only Host of the Eucharist, tried to show the process of deification to which every man is subject. He wanted to emphasize special action of the Holy Spirit and bodily presence of Christ in the Eucharist. It was of great importance to show the physical union of God and man, which causes the consumption of His Body and Blood. The Eucharist is not a “food and spiritual drink” in itself, but above all, eating this food and drinking this drink. The words of establishment cannot be considered in isolation from the fundamental intention of Christ. In the first place there is a call: “take and eat”, “take and drink”, and then only the explanation: “This is my body”, “this is my blood”. Proper meaning of these last words shows their context. The call for real participation is an important and central element in the establishment of the Eucharist. The author was trying to show how every human being, created in the image and likeness of God, through the Eucharist becomes by grace that what God is in His nature, undergoes deification, God’s change.
