Abstrakt
Although Baptists were among the early trailblazers of cooperation between Protestant Churches, their present ecumenical involvement proves to be unsatisfactory. Hence the bilateral talks between Baptist World Alliance and the Roman Catholic Church initiated in the 1980s have been viewed as an important milestone in the development of interconfessional relations. The recent Baptist-Catholic conversations conducted in Vatican in December of 2003 had the aim to initiate a new faze of mutual relationships. Looking for an area of potential future convergences it is proper to recognize an already found common ground. It can be identified in the statements of the Final Report from 1984-1988 Baptist-Roman Catholic International Conversations. The presented paper describes „common good” of Catholics and Baptists in the area of christological, anthropological, soteriological and ecclesiological concernments.
