Abstrakt
Christianopolis – the ideal city – was created by a Protestant pastor and philosopher Johann Valentin Andreae, who lived in the seventeenth century, near Stuttgart. His work was inspired by Thomas Moore’s Utopia and the City of the Sun by Tommaso Campanella. The German minister has enriched his book on original ideas and a number of symbolic content associated with the Protestant pietism. His ideas are compared with ideas of his predecessors and their views on the urban layout and principles of social organization. The article presents the characteristics of Christianopolis with a particular reference to the description of the urban and social structures.
