Abstract

Lektura choćby jednego małego zbioru kazań Kardynała Wyszyńskiego uzmysławia, że był on artystą wielkiej miary. Mówił bowiem obrazami, malując je finezyjnie pędzlem najpiękniejszej polszczyzny. Najbliższa mu była kultura artystyczna ziemi ojczystej, ale chłonął także przy każdej okazji dzieła wielkich i mniejszych artystów sztuki światowej, a następnie wielokrotnie przywoływał je w swoich homiliach, okolicznościowych przemówieniach i referatach. Choć mówiąc o obrazach, rzeźbach czy architekturze zastrzegał zawsze, że ta dziedzina do niego nie należy, jego wypowiedzi uderzają trafnością sądu, precyzją terminologii i niezwykłą wprost wrażliwością na piękno. Wrażliwość jest darem Boga, ale fachowa terminologia naukowej dyscypliny może być tylko wynikiem pogłębionych studiów i wielu lektur.Reading just a small collection of sermons written by Cardinal Wyszyński makes the reader sure that their author is the great artist. He expresses his thoughts applying the richness of such figurative language into his pieces of work that creates their amazing pictures with the most beautiful Polish language paintbrush. Consequently, the mother artistic culture especially appealed to him, even though he absorbed the contents of less and more remarkable world culture artists’ pieces of work . Then, he made them vivid in his preaching, occasional speeches, and lectures. Although while talking about paintings, sculptures, architecture, he indicated that this area did not belong to his professional field, his opinions stun with the clear judgment, the terminology precision, and incredible sensitivity to the beauty. The sensitivity have to be treated as God’s gift, whereas, the professional scientific terminology can only be the result of elaborated studies and many book sets reading.
