Problematyka związana z tłumaczeniem hebrajskiego terminu כִּנּוֹר

Abstract

The Hebrew Bible abounds in examples of musical instruments and כִּנּוֹר is one of them. Archaeological research does not provide an unambiguous answer to the question of what this instrument looked like, because we do not have any finds that would present an instrument signed as כִּנּוֹר. The problem also refers to biblical translations both in the Septuagint and Vulgate, as well as to translations of the Bible into Polish. We see in them attempts to translate כִּנּוֹר using different instrument names, with no consistency in individual Bible translations.

W Biblii Hebrajskiej występuje wiele instrumentów muzycznych, jednym z nich jest כִּנּוֹר. Odkrycia archeologiczne nie dają jednoznacznej odpowiedzi na pytanie, jak wyglądał ten instrument, ponieważ nie istnieje żadne znalezisko, które przedstawiałoby jakiś instrument podpisany jako כִּנּוֹר. Problem jest widoczny również w przekładach biblijnych, zarówno w Septuagincie i Wulgacie, jak również w tłumaczeniach Biblii na język polski. Widać w nich próby przetłumaczenia כִּנּוֹר za pomocą rożnych nazw instrumentów, przy jednoczesnym braku konsekwencji w poszczególnych przekładach biblijnych.
