Abstract

In response to the request by the Governance of the Polish Theological Society, the president of the Polish Conference of Catholic Bishops decreed on April 7th, 2004 that, in accordance with the Code of Canon, Law the Polish Theological Society be recognized as a public association of the Christian faithful and therefore an ecclesiastical juridical person. In the light of the new canonical standing, the Polish Conference of Catholic Bishops has adapted – where necessary – the actual Statute of the Society and accepted it during its 327th plenary session on May 1, 2004. By the decree of July 12, 2004, the Ministry of Interior and Administration of the Republic of Poland has granted, in accordance with the Polish civil law, a juridical personality to the Polish Theological Society.
