Wykładowcy w grupie historycznej na Katolickim Uniwersytecie Lubelskim w latach 1918-1939

Abstract

Artykuł prezentuje pracowników naukowych Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego, którzy w latach 1918-1939 wykładali na kierunku historia. Było ich 49, a wśród nich byli zarówno zawodowi historycy, jak również filozofowie, prawnicy, teologowie i inni. Ich charakterystyki dokonano za pomocą prozopografii. Przedstawiono zatem wyniki przeprowadzonych badań głównie w postaci 19 tabel. Ustalono także odpowiednie kryteria, takie jak: liczba, pochodzenie, wiek, wykształcenie oraz praca w Katolickim Uniwersytecie Lubelskim. Wyniki prowadzą do wniosków, że badana grupa zawodowa nie była jednorodna i podlegała częstej fluktuacji. To była jednak cecha charakterystyczna dla wszystkich pracowników naukowych na KUL-u w tym okresie. Wykładowcy w grupie historycznej nie stanowili więc wyjątku. Były jednak i takie osoby, które podejmując pracę w latach 20. czy 30., kontynuowały ją przez następne dziesięciolecia także po zakończeniu wojny. Świadczy to o ich przywiązaniu do uniwersytetu i swojego miejsca pracy. Grupa historyczna, znajdująca się w strukturze Wydziału Nauk Humanistycznych, w okresie międzywojennym była jedną z najbardziej obleganych przez studentów. Świadczy to o zainteresowaniu historią i chęcią jej studiowania. Dokładna analiza wykładowców pokazuje, że władze uniwersyteckie potrafiły temu sprostać i zatrudniały odpowiednich fachowców do realizacji założonego programu studiów.

The article presents academics of The Catholic University of Lublin, who lectured in history in the years 1918-1939. There were 49 of them, including professional historians as well as philosophers, lawyers, theologians and others. Their characteristics were made by means of prosopography. Therefore, the results of the conducted research are presented mainly in the form of 19 tables. Appropriate criteria were also established, such as: number, origin, age, education and work at the Catholic University of Lublin. The results lead to the conclusion that the researched professional group was not homogeneous and was subject to frequent fluctuations. However, it was a characteristic feature of all research workers at the Catholic University of Lublin in that period. The lecturers in the historical group were therefore no exception. However, there were also people who, taking up work in the 1920s or 1930s, continued it for the next decades, also after the end of the war. This proves their attachment to the university and their workplace. The historical group, included in the structure of the Faculty of Humanities, was one of the most crowded among students in the interwar period. It proves an interest in history and a willingness to study it. A thorough analysis of the lecturers shows that the university authorities were able to cope with it and employed appropriate specialists to implement the assumed study program.
