(Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2004)As distinct from other areas of theology, a field of sacramentology has not been reconstructed yet in a way which would allow it to find cohesion comparable with former cohesion. But it’s true, that sacraments are events by means of which the Church, Church of God’s will present the only and unique event of the Jesus Christ. Participation in secret of the Son of God and in life of God himself is realized within the frames existence and activity of the Church by these gestures which are defined as sacraments. Christian sacrament is that exceptional and special event which implements and passes on gift of God’s justification to all people. Thus, it is a gesture donating life of God. Each of seven sacraments gives a grace, but in every sacrament it has its specificity. Each sacrament justifies but each only in a proper way for itself. Negative effect of the justification what is forgiveness of sins we receive during sacrament of baptism, penance and the last rites. In these sacraments, lost grace of justification comes back (reparatur). Each of seven sacraments gives positive effects of justification. Because first aim of all sacraments is first of all sanctification of the human being.
