Pozycja Żywotność Kościoła w nauczaniu świętego Jana Pawła IISudoł, Grzegorz (Wydawnictwo Pallottinum, 2019)The Church’s vitality is characterized by the spirit of apostolate, which for believers is the highest form of development of the natural mission to build a common good and it fulfills both ad intra and ad extra the Church, is therefore a participation in both spiritual and temporal life. In the opinion of John Paul II, the faith and seeking the holiness is a private matter, as it is a personal meeting of human being with God in true inner freedom, but it is also a matter of the whole, because God wants to include all people in his calling (cf. Lev 11,44). The attitude of the martyrs is a particularly meaningful example of the answer to calling by God to holiness. Martyrdom is a great and radical test of humanity and human dignity in the face of God, but also of the world, which is more and more forgets about it. As such, it is also made manifest today. The bravery of victims of Nazism, communism, racial and ethnic struggles, but also bravery in the most ordinary, everyday matters, which often require great spiritual strength, is a testimony of the still living idea of serving truth and love.
