Wyszyńskiego w Bydgoszczy, 2011)Having performed the function of primate for 33 years, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński has come down in the history of both the Church and Poland. As a person of unquestionable authority, he voiced his opinions on ecclesiastical and national issues. It was his standpoint on nation that provided the subject of the lecture given at the Theological Seminary in Bydgoszcz at the inauguration ceremony of the academic year 2011/2012. The concept of nation presented at the lecture demonstrates his strong ties with the Church on the one hand and reveals a unique theology of nation expressed by the Church on the other. This bond was clearly manifested and further shaped through the implementation of a pastoral programme known as the Grand Novena held prior to the Christian millennial celebrations in Poland, which highlighted the major points of Primate Wyszyński’s theology and pedagogy towards the nation.Pozycja Pastoralne implikacje encykliki Jana Pawła II „Ecclesia de Eucharistia”Bilicki, Lech (Prymasowski Instytut Kultury Chrześcijańskiej im. Stefana Kard. Wyszyńskiego, 2009)John Paul II’s 14th encyclical titled Ecclesia de Eucharistia is clearly pastoral in nature. While recollecting the fundamental truths related to the Eucharist, the pope points to a number of practical implications for Church life. This article deals with: – concern for Sunday regarded as Dies Domini, – the need to return to the practice of adoration and spiritual communion, – care for the proper performance of the liturgy and its beauty, – the importance of the Eucharist in building up communion. A closer reading of the encyclical can be of assistance to the clergy in the Year for Priests proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI.Pozycja Profetyczny wymiar rad ewangelicznych w obliczu wyzwań współczesnego świataBilicki, Lech (Prymasowski Instytut Kultury Chrześcijańskiej im. Stefana Kard. Wyszyńskiego w Bydgoszczy, 2010)In a world overwhelmed by the dictature of relativism (Benedict XVI), a need arises for a point of constant support that would help bring order to our lives and become a “prophet’s voice”. This role could be performed by the three evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty and obedience. Those counsels, traditionally attributed to consecrated people, are in fact addressed by Christ to all His disciples, who by truly following them will carry out the prophetic task which each baptized person has. The article aims to present to what extent living in accordance with the evangelical counsels manages to stand up to the pernicious influence of modern trends.
