Pozycja Katechetyczne myśli encykliki papieża Franciszka „Lumen fidei”Kostorz, Jerzy (Uniwersytet Opolski. Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego, 2013)This article attempted to present catechetical thoughts included in the encyclical Lumen fidei. It is the newest papal encyclical, the first during the pontificate of Pope Francis. Its subject matter is connected with “The year of faith” celebrated in the Catholic Church. This encyclical was created with significant participation of Benedict XVI, the predecessor of the present Pope Francis. The present Pope added a few thoughts to this draft. Firstly, this reflection was focused on depicting the understanding of faith in Lumen fidei encyclical. The attention was paid to catechetical message relating to faith. Next, the subject of faith stimulation and developmet in catechesis was discussed. Although this encyclical is not devoted to catechesis it contains many important catechetical thoughts. However, humans are not alone on this road, and they do not invent their ways of reaching God. A faithful person walks the road assigned to him/her by the incarnated Son of God, who also became our own Way to the Father, who is Love. Thus, with Christ, we set on a His path to salvation. This path has four stages, described by the following verbs: believe, understand, pass and possess. First, we need to believe in God as Love. Next, we must comprehend this Love. Then, we can pass this Love on other, and testify to its power, to finally possess the Love. This is how our life journey can be completed and transformed into our eternity with God. The human Way can only be completed as God’s way: shown and walked by God (cf. Jer 21:8). Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego, 2013)In 1990, when religion lessons came back to Polish schools, priests were faced with new requirements concerning pedagogical qualifications. They are defined in Polish educational law and they influence the quality of direct, theoretical and practical preparation of alumni of theological seminaries for their work as religion teachers. When forming the alumni’s pedagogical and catechetical programme, current standards of education preparing to work as teachers and guidelines included in ratio studiorum for theological seminaries in Poland need to be taken into account. The analyses taken in this article aim at presenting the contemporary, based on standards written in the regulation of The Minister of Science and Higher Education from 17 January 2012, model of pedagogical and catechetical preparation of alumni of theological seminaries in Poland. Firstly, the correct understanding of the term “pedagogical and catechetical education” and the legal basis of professional qualifications required from religion teachers are mentioned. In this context, the issues connected with programming of the pedagogical and catechetical education in theological seminaries in Poland are described. It is accomplished through the analysis of guidelines included in ratio studiorum and in standards of pedagogical education, defined in the above-mentioned, current regulation of The Minister of Science and Higher Education. The attention is also paid to new, conditioned by changes in school education and teachers’ training, quality of pedagogical and catechetical training. Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego, 2013)The text presents the monuments dedicated to saints, priests and martyrs erected in Poland in the public space. The year 1989, apart from the economic, social and cultural changes, brought about essential modifications in monuments. This so-called catching up resulted in, among others, “the explosion” of the monuments of John Paul II as well as other works related with the sacrum. These were the figures and monuments of local God’s servants, the beatified and saints, patrons and other clergymen associated with a given place. After 1989, one can notice the return of the patrons into, for example, town heraldry. Their significance for local history and culture is accentuated more than before. In the collection under analysis, one can find both the monuments which are the figures of saints: Michael, Lawrence or saint Martin (horse monument in Odolanów) as well as the images of native saints: Adalbert, Bruno from Querfurt, Hedwig of Silesia. The objects which are more known are bigger; they are often of poor artistic quality. The examples include Jesus Christ in Świebodzin or the collection of sculpting stations making up the Beskidzka Calvary in Radziechowy. What is also noteworthy is the fact that the memory of local priests, sometimes martyrs, is also revived. Some of them, however, are amateur works. Another problem is connected with the situations in which those moments come into being quite fast, in which the transparency of procedures, good taste or law and required permits are not well taken care of. The examples of the Cracow monuments of Piotr Skarga (in pi. św. Marii Magdaleny) or John Paul II (in Wawel Castle) are good cases in point. The last part of the text pertains to the symbol of the cross, employed in monuments (the examples are the Millennium Monument in Kołobrzeg as well as the Papal monument erected in pi. The encyclical was the answer on the new — ideological, economic and social — reality. Leo XIII claimed, that in the central point of the solution of social question (which core was thelabour question), has stayed human person in reference to God and fellow creature; he showed, that the most important is to act in accordance with gospel values — it is the guarantee of: the renovation, solution of the social and moral existence; respect of human rights and human dignity; a fair division of goods. Joseph Tischner is considered Polish creator of the philosophy of drama, which heart is seen in the agathology, i.e. the doctrine or science of the good. However, the period of axiological and agathological creativity of the philosopher from Cracow would not be fully legible without the issue of the hope. An important in its meaning is the fact that his first book is devoted to the hope. Also Tischner’s recent texts testify how important for his religious thinking was the problem of the hope. There was a time, when he was described as a philosopher of the hope. As in Marcel’s, also Tischner’s teaching on the hope is preceded by an ordeal, which is accompanied by uncertainty, anxiety, ungrounded fear, or even, a temptation of desperation. Thus, the hope is a natural reaction to these human states and experiences. It is a strength to undertake the effort, it is a promise: “One need to say that man is stronger than desperation”. It is easy to notice that Tischner places the hope in a world of values. In this period of his philosophy, which we called “axiological”, the experience of valuewill always decide on the value. In the context of the search for the truth about man, Tischner points out the basis of the hope. Does it mean that the hope is the only way of the efficient concern about self and is to be regarded as another kind of human egoism? Cult of St. James grew in medieval age, when people started writing tales about him. Fame of St. James the Elder didn’t avoid Poland, as evidenced by the many churches dedicated to him. Main goal of this article is to show Upper Silesia trails of St. James. Even in the Middle Ages, many pilgrims went through these roads. The Way of St. James leads to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain — one of the most important Christian place during medieval times, together with Rome and Jerusalem. Nowadays, more and more Upper Silesia cities joins to St. James’ Way. Unfortunately, these trails are missing places, where the cult of St. James developed for centuries. Many Polish and the more European visitors have no idea that in the Upper Silesia are many temples dedicated to St. James.
