Thanks to it a man perfects himself, gains the means to life, and learns how to sacrifice for others. Work makes people realize their value. It unfolds in all dimensions of human life: somatic, emotional, mental, spiritual and moral. For this reason, it is impossible to separate from it the operation and process of education. Education is an essential aid in the discovery of man's possibilities. Responsibility and work for functioning education is always carried out in a social context, and produces some specific environments of formation in the community. Natural educational environment is that of family, school, workplace and other institutions. The impact of the participation, interactions and role models is characteristic for all these groups. The human existence and society depends on the proper work in the field of education.Pozycja Ks. Jan Skorupski „Złota legenda znad polskich jezior i lasów” Wydawnictwo Jedność, Kielce 2014, ss. 272.Guzewicz, Wojciech (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2014)Pozycja Kobiety w kulturze i religii społeczności żydowskiej w świetle Ksiąg MachabejskichBaran, Grzegorz M. (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2014)Analyzing the contents of the Books of the Maccabees (1-2Macc canonical and 3-4Macc apocryphal) it can be noted that their authors – on the canvas of the story associated with the revolt of the Maccabees and the persecution of the Jewish community – also touched upon issues of the presence and role of women in the religion and culture of ancient Israel in Hellenistic times. Although women mentioned by the authors women are anonymous, one can, however, learn a lot about their lives in this period. The authors in fact give different information about the women of different status: young girls, virgins/unmarried maidens, wives, mothers, widows, grandmothers as well as prostitutes. Of particular note are women who demonstrated heroism in defense of God’s Law. The mother of seven sons, presented in 2Macc and 4Macc, stands out in this respect as – for the fidelity to the Law – she suffered a martyr’s death, encouraging earlier her own sons to assume the same attitude. To sum up, one can conclude that women in the Jewish community of the time, which was clearly dominated by men, played important roles and in certain circumstances were able to do heroic deeds.Pozycja Z dziejów katolickiej placówki duszpasterskiej w Olecku w XIX i pierwszej połowie XX wiekuJodkowski, Marek (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2014)In 1853, a Catholic mission station was founded in Olecko. Land property was bought with an intention to build a church. Johannes Osinski became the first priest of this town on 22nd May 1853. His duties included the organisation of Catholic ministry in the Olecko district. In the years 1859-1861, a Neogothic church was built in Olecko; it was blessed on 1st December 1861. Bishop Antoni Frenzel dedicated the temple to the Holy Cross and Saint Adalbert on 27th August 1862. A Catholic school in this town was founded probably in 1866, but it was closed quite soon afterwards. Rural chapels serviced by the priest of Olecko were founded, among others, in a village named Borawskie and in a settlement named Kozia Góra (Ziegenberg). At the end of the 19th century, the priest from Olecko also celebrated Catholic Masses in Gołdap. One of the greatest problems of the Catholic community in Olecko was to guarantee appropriate remuneration for the priest. He received an yearly allowance from the Boniface and Adalbert Association in Frombork. Numerous construction and redecoration works on the church buildings were also funded from this source. In 1929, the legal status of the Olecko pastoral institution was approved by the state authorities.Pozycja Sprawozdanie z X międzynarodowej konferencji naukowej „Współczesna rodzina: perspektywy lokalne i europejskie”. Szkic z historii podmiotowości w Prusach XVI w.Radzicki, Bogdan; Białuński, Grzegorz (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2014)This paper is an attepmt to summarise the person of Regina Protmann, founder of Sisters Saint Catherine Sister Cloister in Braniewo, as a “regional identity project”. According to authors its structure and its meaning can be fully understood by taking into consideration the cultural context in which the “project” was delineated. Full context is composed not only of political and economic factors of time and space, but also a rapid process of cultural change - clash of two ideas of interpretation of Christian Symbolic Universe (theological discourses) and thus different visions of good and modest life. Most of all, the context consists of local customs and habits, which reinterpret official religious discourse in frames of own, local experience (of “lived through” world). The main interpretation frames of problem essayed here are limited to theological discussion on the general concept of Church, which found its counterpart in social practice, eg. the “Chalice dispute” for laymen (Holy Communion in two forms) and, on the other hand, dispute about conception of Christian life – the concept of subjectivity. The latter polarized Catholics and Protestants around practices, beginning from the concept of priesthood and ending on penance. The importance of those two was eclipsed by the issue of opposition of life engaged in matters of this world and life, which meant to be out of temporal context. This paper is attempt to describe the consecrated life of beatified Regina Protmann as an element of dialectical process, in which both oppositions in the dispute clarify and complement with each other.Pozycja Von Information zu Kreation Darstellung der Ermländischen Walfahrtsorte im „ermländischen Hauskalender”Sapała, Barbara (Wydawnictwo Diecezjalne Adalbertinum, 2014)Calendars had been long regarded as an element of popular culture targeted at the lower social classes. Their unique contribution to literary and cultural studies has been recognized only recently. The Warmia Calendar was published continuously between 1856 and 1938 by members of Braniewo's Catholic community. The calendar served educational (promoting knowledge about Warmia) as well as political and religious goals (promoting Warmian identity rooted in Catholicism and patriotism). The calendar's functions and the publishing strategies adopted by different authors changed with the region's political situation. This article discusses those changes based on an analysis of calendar texts dedicated to Warmian sanctuaries in chronological order.
