Pozycja Władze Uniwersytetu Papieskiego Jana Pawła II w KrakowieDyduch, Jan (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)The Pontifical University of John Paul II in Cracow is an ecclesiastical university. The Apostolic Constitution Sapientia christiana and the statute of the university regulate its governance. The collegial bodies and the natural persons exercise the authority in question. Among the first group one can count: the Congregation for Catholic Education, the Polish Episcopal Conference, the University Senate; while the second category consists of: the Great Chancellor, the vice Great Chancellor, Rector, and deans of faculties.Pozycja Wychowanie w rodzinie jako czynnik kształtujący postawę tolerancji społecznejGodawa, Grzegorz (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)Tolerance is closely connected with upbringing. Forming one’s personality within the family environment influences the quality of attitudes in the society. The educational process aimed at developing tolerance emphasizes that the value of a person should always be most important. Partnership in the family which forms the basis for democratic upbringing is a crucial element helping to develop tolerance. The upbringing based on relationships which are not distorted may be very effective. To enable the family to base their life on genuine partnership it is necessary to refer to universal values during the educational process. Selfless love which should be the foundation of life and upbringing is the best guarantee of social tolerance.Pozycja Z problematyki początków szkolnictwa średniego w OświęcimiuChrząszcz, Czesław (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)The article reconstructs the events connected with the beginning years of the grammar school in Oświęcim (today’s Konarski Secondary School). The work of Feliks Tobiczyk, the founder of the school who came from Oświęcim and was a professor in the grammar school in Łańcut, is also reconstructed in the article. The foundation of the grammar school in Oświęcim had a few stages. At the beginning (presumably in December 1914) the grammar school courses were set up in order to satisfy the temporary needs of a huge number of pupils who were escaping from the Russian and left their home schools. 29th January 1915 is the first certain date in the history of the courses. On that day fr. Karol Szałaśny, the parish priest in Oświęcim, sent a letter (which was discovered by the author of the article) to the consistory in Kraków asking them to assign a religion teacher to the school headed by Tobiczyk. The success of the grammar school courses as well as the appeals of the local community made Tobiczyk decide to found a full secondary school in Oświęcim. He devoted himself to the foundation of the school in September 1916 and headed it at his own cost until 1919. Then the school was taken over by Secondary School Society in Oświęcim.Pozycja Teologia i jej zadania w świetle wskazań Kongregacji Nauki WiaryCharamsa, Krzysztof (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)The article reflects on the theology and its assignments from the point of view of its own scientific method. The coherent method of the theological speculation cannot be totally indifferent to the essential bond between theology and deposit of the faith. To this respect, the indications offered by the teaching of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in the post-conciliar time are analyzed, reflecting on the doctrinal competence field, where the Dicastery advances with a new intensity the doctrinal orientations for the correct theological method.Pozycja Zespół witraży w kościele parafialnym w Mszance koło Gorlic. Przyczynek do dziejów witrażownictwa krakowskiego 2. ćwierci XX wiekuLaskowski, Andrzej (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)Windows in the parish church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Mszanka near Gorlice, which supplements the architecture of the church built in 1938–1940 following the design of Edward Okoń, an architect from Tarnów, comprises 12 stained glass: two figural in the chancel, eight geometrical with medallions in the nave and transept, and two with monograms on both sides of the main entrance. Although plain in the artistic sense, and in the case of the figural ones – mediocre, these stained glass successfully complement the bright and orderly interior of the parish church. The inscriptions on two panels and existing archival sources inform us that the windows were created in 1938 in the Kraków workshop of Maksymilian Romańczyk. The archival documents describe the entire investment process leading to their creation and their repair which was necessary due to their deficient construction. This task was undertaken in 1949 by the renowned Kraków Stained Glass Company S. G. Żeleński, which is also described in detail in the historical records. Stained glass and primarily the archival materials preserved in Mszanka are excellent sources of many valuable details on stained glass workmanship in Poland in the second quarter of the 20th century, the division of tasks within stained glass workshops, the involvement of the clients, and on projects that the above-mentioned workshops were working on concurrently at that time – information which was previously unknown. In turn, the preserved company letterhead authorised with the original stamps provides useful information on the functioning of these types of workshops, their products and achievements. In quite a distinct manner, the letterhead also tells us a little about the history of the workshops. The above example confirms that works of art or archival material stored until this day in locations outside urban areas can valuably supplement and sometimes even alter our knowledge of stained glass art in Poland.Pozycja Czy starożytność powinna być inspiracją dla współczesnego prawodawcy kościelnego w dziedzinie małżeństwa i rodziny? Rozważania na kanwie kultury Grecji i RzymuKroczek, Piotr (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)Legislation is an art that takes inspiration from a variety of sources. There is a question: Should the antiquity be one of them? The paper attempts to give the answer. The author gives some proposals of such borrowing of ideas in the realm of marriage and family: making a choice of a candidate for a spouse, engagement and financial aspect of future marriage, contracting marriage without obligatory form, and a role of a father in the family. The presentation leads to the conclusion that the legislator should value culture of antiquity as a source of ideals but while borrowing the antique ideas he must follow the rules needed for such an action. The rules are presented in the paper, as postulates for good legislation.Pozycja Testimony about my BishopKubiś, Adam (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)The paper is a small part of the books of Rev. Adam Kubiś on card. Franciszek Macharski. The article presents an abbreviated biography of the Cardinal starting with his priesthood and concluding with his becoming a cardinal. The text offers some personal reflections on the person, life and work of card. Franciszek Macharski from the perspective of Rev. Adam Kubiś who worked very closely with the Cardinal for many years.Pozycja Filozoficzne aspekty przyzwyczajeniaHarasimowicz, Magdalena (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)This article describes philosophical aspects of the group of phenomena which are closely related to an English word “habit” and Latin habitus. The author uses a term “habit” when meaning a large set of effects of the process of habituating or accustoming in multiple descriptions – the following meanings seem to be the most popular: tendency, disposition, motor skill, unreflective/automatic behavior, attitude or mental state. The process appears in two different dimensions, as a habituation, it refers to a psychophysiological process of adaptation to constantly repeated stimulus, and as a habit formation, it usually refers to the formation of automatic response to stimulus in a behavioral sense. The author signalises a wide range of subjects mentioned in this article because all mentioned phenomena are included in the Polish term “przyzwyczajenie”, which here is understood as a process or an effect of a process existing in the psychophysical sphere as a scheme, which is formed by a long-time repetition with a characteristic reduction of attention proportional to progression made in the learning process. The main purpose of the research is to present that phenomena of the process and effects of habituating can be analyzed in a philosophical sense as an important category and described in ethical, epistemological, aesthetical and anthropological areas. The process and effects of habituating can be considered in reference to the problem of fundamental philosophical dichotomy like ‘subjective vs. objective’, ‘empirical vs. rational’ and ‘relative vs. absolute’. They can also be described in the context of values – truth, goodness and beauty.Pozycja Prezentacja książki Uniwersytety wobec współczesnych wyzwań autorstwa kard. Zenona GrocholewskiegoDyduch, Jan (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)Pozycja Maria – Mutter der Hoffnung und des Trostes. Der spezifische Beitrag der Ordensperson im Dienst des Evangeliums der HoffnungKijas, Zdzisław J. (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)When we ask about the specific contribution of consecrated persons in the service of the Gospel of hope, we reply that it can be essentially summed up by three behaviors. Firstly, when we talk about hope, it means that we are experiencing some form of anxiety, possibly fear of distress. It is necessary, therefore, to look at fear from the perspective of Christian hope, which overcomes the fear, distances and eliminates any distress. Secondly, when we try to decipher the time of trials in its fullest sense, both spiritual as well as existential experience, familial or communal, we understand it as another way of experiencing hope. Thirdly, He gives strength in the holy anxiety about the things of the Lord, in order to realize what he is calling one to do. He will give the strength to follow this road and arrive at the goal of one’s journey.Pozycja Wychowanie do życia wspólnotowego jako zadanie szkolnej lekcji religii w świetle polskich dokumentów oświatowych i katechetycznychKielian, Andrzej (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)Upbringing is a task of both school education and catechesis. The purpose of this article is to answer the following questions: do the general aims of school education in Poland go hand in hand with the tasks of catechesis? To what extent it is possible to educate for community life (cf. GDC 86) at school religion classes in Poland? In order to find answers to these questions it is necessary to present the aims of general education in Poland according to the new core curriculum (based on the Regulation by the Minister of National Education of 23 December 2008 on Core Curricula for Pre-school and General Education in particular types of schools) along with methods for entering its records into school curricula. The general aims of upbringing, that the documents of the Church put before religious instruction at school are shown against this background, in order to find points of contact with the school curricula. The possible implementation of education for community life in the school environment is discussed on the base of the Core Curriculum for the Catechesis of the Catholic Church in Poland (approved by the Polish Bishops’ Conference in 2010). In conclusion it can be stated that the aims of both religion education at school and general education in Poland, in relation to education for community life, are similar: creation and strengthening of local communities, rooting students in natural communities, such as the family and the nation, creating a climate for dialogue between representatives of different cultures and beliefs. All these aims are focused on development of attitudes necessary for the sustainability of the community of the state. Furthermore, education for community life as the task of catechesis goes beyond the scope of school education. It calls for completion in extracurricular activities, to bring pupils to the Eucharistic community and active participation in the life and activities of the Church.Pozycja Cisza i milczenie: aktualność propozycji chrześcijańskiejMisztal, Wojciech (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)The article presents the topicality of the Christian approach to the quiet and the silence. Christian spirituality has been characterized by a realistic and balanced treatment of the human person who is a being in need of both quiet and silence, as well as an exchange of information. Then attention importance of quiet and silence in case of the contemporary society has been presented as a positively important, even essential element of the fruitful creation of their offer and, subsequently, taking advantage of it.Pozycja Recenzja książki Wokół „Dziennika” o. Piotra Semenenki CRZyzak, Wojciech (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)Pozycja Kontrowersje wokół rozstrzygnięć sumienia Tomasza More’aMedwid, Wojciech (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)The article is an attempt to discover the mysterious conscience of Thomas More, his motives and intentions, which for many have been and are still completely incomprehensible, as well as to show the value of conscience in decision making. A specific consideration is the way in which Thomas More understands the inner voice of conscience, and as referring to the realm of political beliefs and principles according to which he lived. Was he more loser politician or saint statesman and a pattern of respect for the inviolable rules? Moreover, his example shows that faithfulness to God’s internal voice may become more precious than life. Without a doubt, the words and deeds of Thomas are a kind of mystery to of his conscience. He also recognizes his restraint in expressing what made the conscience of his own beliefs. Without a doubt, More felt the need to absolute obligation in doing so, and not a different decision, regardless of the consequences. In his social position and an office which he held, there was no place to be against the rules. The situation in which he found himself became a great challenge for him and successfully performed its duty. He faced death, clearly expressing the truth, bearing in his heart, that he was obliged in conscience to refuse to take the oath, because the authority of the Church is beyond the authority of the king.Pozycja Nouvelle evangelisation – espoir pour l’oecumenismeWalkowiak, Katarzyna Kinga (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)The “new evangelization” is a synonymous of the rebirth of the life of faith in the Church. If accepted by all the communities of the divided Christian Church it can contribute to fruitful proclamation of Jesus Christ to the contemporary world, and to build a visible koinonia. The new evangelization should therefore be seen as a challenge to all Christian denominations. The church must see the need for complementarity and interplay of the two initiatives for the world: new evangelization and ecumenism.Pozycja Miłosierdzie Boże jako źródło radości i szczęściaMachniak, Jan (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)Joy is an important factor in human life. It is indispensable in giving a positive sense to human existence, in enlivening everyday life; it is also important in the process of man’s self-improvement. It exerts a big influence on one’s somatic and psycho-spiritual health and that is why one may refer to it as a healing element. It is a strength which removes inter-human barriers which unites and creates a community. It is based on friendship and love. Thanks to joy, man finds it easier to forgive others and is able to love his neighbor. The source of Christian joy is Jesus himself, who is revealing God Father. The mystical experience of St. Sister Faustina, described in her Diary is conferring the possibility of truth joy coming out from the experience of God in the contemporary world.Pozycja Psychologiczne wątki w encyklice Lumen fideiMakselon, Józef (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)The author is convinced, that the first Encyclical of Pope Francis Lumen Fidei (Light of Faith) offers a profound and comprehensive meditation on the role of faith in our live. The Pope writes, that the light of faith comes from God and is able to illuminate all aspects of man’s existence: it proceeds from the past, from the memory of Jesus’ life, but also comes from the future as it opens up vast horizons. In the present article the phenomenon of light and dynamics of faith are analysed from the psychological point of view.Pozycja Stosunki majątkowe między parafią zakonną a domem zakonnymSkonieczny, Piotr (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)This article presents the problematic concerning the property relations between the religious parish and the religious house. According to the Author these relations are founded on two basic principles: the autonomy of the two juridical persons, i.e. the religious parish and the religious house, and cooperation in view of the salvation of souls. The Author then applies these basic principles by commenting on income, the administration of goods and, finally, the common costs to be apportioned.Pozycja Prezentacja książki Quod iustum est et aequum. Scritti in onore del Cardinale Zenone Grocholewski per il cinquantesimo di sacerdozioDyduch, Jan (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)Pozycja Matki Izraela typem Matki KościołaŻyciński, Wojciech (Wydawnictwo Naukowe Papieskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Krakowie, 2013)The Bible very little attention pays to the Mother of God. Apart from the Gospels of Childhood there are only two known mentions from the public period of Jesus’ activity. These are the wedding in Cana and the description of Christ’ crucifixion. The beloved disciple does not even mention Mary’s name. He replaces it with such words as: Mother of Lord, Jesus’ Mother, His Mother. The Old Testament does not refer to Mary directly. There are many texts though that according to the symbolic sense and prophets’ predictions refer to Mary’s motherhood towards expected Messiah and Her participation in His redemptive act. It refers especially to the Old Testament ”Mothers” of Israel who played a crucial role in history of this nation both through its religious formation during the periods of unfaithfulness to Covenant and through the participation in the liberation from slavery and alien invasion, when the history of Israel at the same time the history of redemption and became the theology of Israeli Nation. Through a place and a role of these Mothers in the liberation of Israel the Christian exegesis, following the patristic tradition, defines the place and the role of Mary in the redemption of man fulfilled by Christ.
