Pozycja Posługi świeckich w liturgii eucharystycznej – zarys historycznyLitawa, Karol (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2022)This article is an attempt to provide a historical overview of the lay ministry in the Eucharistic liturgy, with particular emphasis on the function of an acolyte. Ancient ministries in the liturgical community and in the daily life of Christians became degrees of “lower ordination” in later centuries, directed at “higher ordination”. The reform of the Second Vatican Council organized these ranks and ministries in the community of the Church, emphasizing the role of the acolyte and extraordinary minister of Holy Communion. Pope Francis in January 2021 opened a new perspective, introducing the possibility of the ministry of an acolyte at the altar and in the community of the Church for women.Pozycja Łacińskie średniowieczne hymny i ich polskie przekłady w liturgii. Koegzystencja słowa i muzyki. Eksplikacja filologicznaJanus, Katarzyna Joanna (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2022)The paper focuses on selected medieval hymns which are still present in liturgy. This fragments of the hymns are analysed that characterize by particularly poetical and stylistic devices. This ones are used in writing for emphasis mysterious issues and to get readers to understand theological ones. In this article an attention is paid to the meaning a melody and subordinating its to verse’s form. Created during centuries Polish translations are shown in this sketch as well. Philological considerations are based on intertextual references and regard the biblical, patristic contexts and issues connected with music and literary theory. Pozycja Liturgiczna troska o chorych i cierpiących w wybranych orędziach św. Jana Pawła II na Światowy Dzień ChoregoCzerwiński, Adrian (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2022)This article presents the teachings of John Paul II expressed in his messages for the World Day of the Sick. The aim of this publication is to extract from selected messages fragments devoted to the liturgical care for the sick and suffering. The second objective is to show the transforming grace of Christ in the difficult experience of sickness, suffering and death in which the sick participate. These teachings included in and implemented through liturgy are aimed at both believers and non-believers. In the messages, we can find several planes on which the care for the sick and suffering is expressed in liturgy. They include: the central position of the Mass in annual celebrations of the World Day of the Sick, emphasizing the value of sacraments, most importantly the Eucharist and the Reconciliation, mentioning the shrine to the Virgin Mary, and outlining the mission of priests involved in sacramental ministry to the sick. The pope’s understanding of liturgy expressed in his messages focuses on the problem of accepting suffering in accordance with the Catholic faith expressed in liturgy, showing the authenticity of Christ’s message in sickness, and demonstrating the evangelical and transforming role of liturgy for believers and non-believers. The view of Pope John Paul II is not limited to ritual or disciplinary matters, but focuses on a dialogue between God, the Church, man and the world, in which liturgy is supposed to build unity based on Christ and lead to a moral, spiritual and finally eschatological renewal of man and the world. These reflections are very important from the perspective of current changes in the Church, the rejection of the teaching on Christ’s cross by the modern man, which should be preached anew by believers with the power of the Holy Spirit, and the coronavirus pandemic, which has exposed many weaknesses of the community of believers.Pozycja Postacie konsekrowane a wystawienie eucharystyczne. Aspekt prawno-liturgicznyAdamczyk, Jerzy (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2022)Christ in the Eucharist is entitled to the cult of adoration. The aim of the article is to present the issues of presenting Eucharistic species for adoration in the legal and liturgical aspect. The first part of the article presents the issue of Christ’s presence in the Eucharist under the form of bread and wine. The second part presents the problem of exposing the Eucharistic Christ in the form of bread, while the third part presents the prohibition of exposing the Blood of Christ to adoration.Pozycja Zaułki psychologiczne rozważań o kobiecie w liturgiiKuncewicz, Dorota K. (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2022)The response to the needs of the times of the modern world may be the result of a prudent view of the reality in which a person lives and which they do not choose. It can, however, be the consequence of naïve acquiescence to the world and of fitting in with its clamour. And yet it is neither a matter of superficial equality nor an empty gesture. There is no reason why the risk of a superficial reading of the world’s needs should omit the question of admitting women to the ministry of lector and acolyte. After all, the demand for simple gender symmetry, blurring and negation of differences resounds very clearly today. At a deeper level, this cry is a reminder of the imbalance in the mutuality of appreciation, but also of the dependence in life – each person placing themselves equally on the scales (in accordance with the command: “Be subject to one another”). And it is not a question of taking something off one scale pan, but of making the weight of the other one similar. Following the words of Benedict XVI, the recognition of women’s contribution must be derived from obedience to the truth and the example of Mary, who balances emotions and reason, embracing the totality of human life. In this perspective, increasing the space for the presence of women would be linked to their ability to perceive and to call for the continuity and value of humanity.Pozycja Integracyjna rola muzyki w Kościele na podstawie nauczania papieży Benedykta XVI i FranciszkaNowak, Daniel (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2022)In the liturgy of the Church, music, among other things, is a factor that supports a living relationship with God and unites believers. Pope-emeritus Benedict XVI and Pope Francis for the modern Church are guides and supreme guardians who point out the sense of maintaining the proper level of music in the Church. In his search for the right ways of church music, Benedict XVI does not deal thoroughly with musicological issues, but from the point of view of a theologian, he looks for points of contact between faith and art. For the pope, the musical expression of praise to God remains in harmony with the Christian dogma of the incarnation, which is realized in the Church and the sacraments. Music is one of the elements that create a space for the continuation of the events of the incarnation. Submitting to integration, it purifies the human being, liberates and inclines thoughts towards God. The current Pope Francis constantly recognizes music in the Church as a unifying element of the community and as a means of proclaiming the faith. He considers it necessary to constantly renew liturgical music and chant, especially in terms of quality, so that Church music is fully inculturated in the artistic and musical language of today. Getting to know the richness of music and traditions of different parts of the world helps to preserve the tradition of the Church in the modern world and to enrich it with what the modern times bring. Such an updating builds a living community which by listening or performing music unites diversity in one song of praise to God. The theological perspective on the meaning of sacred music and its qualities allows for the proper use of music as an integrating factor for both the individual believer and the whole community. The theological perspective on the importance of sacred music and its qualities helps to make the right use of music as an integrating factor for the individual believer and the community.Pozycja Nowenna do Miłosierdzia Bożego w kontekście liturgii paschalnejNowak, Jacek (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2022)Article „The Divine Mercy Novena in the context of paschal liturgy” shows links between the content of the novena and the Good Friday universal prayer and it explains on what basis it is prayed on certain concrete days. The article presents first the moment od St. Faustina’s apparitions of Jesus (March 26th, 1937) and of the writing down the novena (August 10th, 1937). Next, it depicts difficulties in the propagation of the novena and the role of Fr. Michał Sopoćko in the theological explanation of this form of prayer. The article’s second part compares the text for each day of the novena with the Good Friday universal prayer. The fact is underlined that this matter is to be seen within the context of the pre-conciliar liturgy. The third part explains the novena in the liturgical context of each day, that is, of entire paschal mystery: the Lord’s Passion, Death and Resurrection. The final conclusion shows how strictly interlinked is the novena with liturgical texts; and even though it was conceived 25 years before the Vaticanum II, it fulfills the pronouncement that pious exercises should flow out of the liturgy and lead back to it (cf. Sacrosanctum Concilium 13) thanks to the identical content of both.Pozycja “O Good One, Open the Door of Your Mercy…” Reflections on Divine Mercy in West Syriac TraditionKoyickal, Paul Karamel (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2022)This paper is a study of certain notions of ‘Divine Mercy’ in the West Syriac liturgical tradition in the light of Word of God and liturgical prayers. The author tries to explore the theme of ‘Mercy’ (rahme) in the liturgical prayers in West Syriac liturgical tradition using certain technical phrases coined with the word rahme. Some of the phrases are “Door of Mercy” (tar’o drahme), “Dew of Mercy” (talā drahme), “Sea of Mercy” (yamā drahme) and “Wings of Mercy” (kenfe drahme).Pozycja Resurrecting the Ambo: Monument of Paschal Memory and Eschatological Hope. Part IRyan, Fergus M. T. (Wydawnictwo Św. Krzyża w Opolu, 2022)The use of the ambo during the celebration of Mass with a congregation was restored to the Roman rite in 1964, it seemed after centuries of absence. Limited use of the ambo during Mass, or remains of the ambo such as lecterns, had continued interrupted in some Western rite contexts from the Council of Trent until the Second Vatican Council. The reception of the ambo from 1964 was rather modest with respect to its monumental history and symbolic wealth. This was due, no doubt, to the significance and history of the ambo going un-noted in Roman documentation and liturgical books in the years after “Sacrosanctum Concilium”. Renewed emphasis on the significance of the ambo on the part of the Roman dicastery for divine worship appeared in the context of the Roman rite in the late 1980s and once again in the Jubilee year 2000 but seems to have been overlooked in the vast majority of local churches. The author reviews what he considers to be a gradual restoration of the ambo to its medieval heyday while seeing that same restoration as central in placing the celebration of Christ’s paschal mystery at the heart of the liturgy renewed after Vatican II.Pozycja Forma sanctitatis et omnium imago virtutum. Iwona z Chartres kazanie o znaczeniu szat kapłańskichLibowski, Łukasz (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2022)The present article is devoted to one of the sermons of Ivo of Chartres, namely the sermon in which the indicated author explains the meaning of the various vestments that the priest puts on for the celebration of sacred services. A Study of Parchment Fragments from Swedish National Archives (Riksarkivet)Grajewski, Czesław (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2022)The Swedish National Archives (Riksarkivet) houses the largest collection of parchment books’ fragments in Northern Europe (ca. 23 000), a great number of which is liturgical. Out of them a little over 5 000 were available online as of 2020. The author of this article isolated 67 fragments containing texts and chants of the Liturgy of the Hours in honour of St. Catherine of Alexandria. By the time of the Council of Trent numerous Offices of St. Catherine were created, out of which four became the most widely represented. These four Offices are characterized with a high degree of diversification, which can serve as a clue during provenance studies of the respective fragments.Pozycja 52. (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2022)Pozycja Łacińskie rękopisy liturgiczne zachowane jako palimpsesty. KatalogSuski, Andrzej (Redakcja Wydawnictw Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego, 2022)Palimpsest to rękopis spisany na używanym już wcześniej materiale piśmienniczym, z którego usunięto poprzedni tekst, możliwy wszakże do odczytania dzięki zastosowaniu promieni ultrafioletowych, kamer cyfrowych i supernowoczesnych technik przetwarzania. Palimpsesty liturgiczne przetrwały najczęściej w postaci większych lub mniejszych fragmentów dawnych ksiąg liturgicznych, które uległy rozszyciu, rozproszeniu i przycięciu do nowego formatu. Stanowią one cenne źródła wiedzy dla badań w zakresie historii kultu, zwłaszcza historii dawnej liturgii galijskiej, celtyckiej i mozarabskiej. Zamieszczony wykaz palimpsestów liturgicznych uwzględnia miejsce przechowania, sygnaturę kodeksu, folie z tekstem pierwotnym (scriptura inferior), ewentualnie ich obecne rozmiary, typ księgi liturgicznej, czas i ustalone lub prawdopodobne miejsce jej powstania oraz bibliografię z podaniem wydania, jeśli istnieje.
