In the first place the most known empirical surveys on conversion were introduced followed by the author’s research. The Conversion Questionnaire has been taken in 1997 among 500 people aged between 18 and 65 (51% women and 49% of men). The most important results of conversion are as follows: deepening ones faith, changing of the ethical attitudes, a better self-knowledge, overcoming a religious anxiety and a greater opennesss toward others. The sex makes the differences in overcoming the religious anxiety and the openeess toward others. The age, however, matters in all the results of the religious conversion. As a result of conversion the religious self-evaluation changes radically. The religion plays, first of all, the cognitive function in personality, being a source of the pourpose of life and gives criteria of moral choices.
