Pozycja Komputerowy totalitaryzm w perspektywie etyczno-moralnejSzafulski, Andrzej (Papieski Fakultet Teologiczny we Wrocławiu, 2002)The process of globalization of computer technology is the shortest way to the greatest dictatorship in the human history and to the greatest totalitarianism possible. The functioning of the growing number of societies is in many fields of life no more possible without computer technologies. In such situation a question may be asked: is this new state of affairs influencing the human life and if it is – what is this influence? This paper is concentrated on formulation of such principles that could rule the operation of the computer technologies whose value is ambivalent. On the one hand – computer technologies offer to humanity new possibilities previously unknown. On the other hand it is possible to use them against human beings. Numerous cases of misusing them oblige us to reflect on their nature and their social impact and to formulate and explain some norms directed at their ethical utilization.
